Z-axis shifts slightly upwards

So as you can see in the pictures, everytime the printer finishes a section it moves up, goes to the new location, goes down and resumes to print. the issue is that it does not return to the Z-position that it should go to. I got a new mainboard from sovol support already and it didnt help me. so i thought maybe some of you had this issue before and know whats up. Im also in contact with the support. This printer was bought like a month ago brand new and i have yet to print anything successful with it.

Hello,
Have you turned on the ironing function on the slicer?

No its turned off.

Btw: It doesnt matter where on the bed i place the model or in what direction, it will always end up the same. I also tried different models and the same thing happens already in the firs layer.

How did you contact customer support?
Did you send an email to info@sovol3d.com with your order number?

Have you verified the belt tension for all 4 Z belts?

Normally you’d expect that “lost counts” or a loose grub screw to error down not up. With the power off use your hand to move each corner of the gantry up/down a few mm. Do they feel similar?

@mich0111 yes i did, they answered quickly and sent me a new mainboard. this didnt help tho so i thought i might ask here in the forum too in case someone had this issue before.

@cardoc good idea. i have checked the belt tension by “feeling”. compared to other printers i have they seem fine. But i can actually measure it with a freqency detector. i would need to know the frequency required tho to make sure.

Try this:
Belt tension calculator.xlsx (20.3 KB)

I’ve not seen a guide for the Z axis belts. The A and B belts that move the printhead X and Y get all the attention.

Seems to think the same parameters apply (150mm and 110Hz) for the Z.
