Mechanical Problem with Brand New SV08 Max Unit, Can't Fix?

This is driving me up the wall, printer and PLA filament calibrated through all of Orca tests, but there is an artifact that shows up every time oriented toward the Z1 (front left) rail. It is a repeating artifact mostly vertical, that ruins all prints. It is not slicer-related, because I’ve printed different models, changed the seam placement, put the seam on random, etc. and has no effect, always occurs facing Z1 rail. Must be mechanical? But it’s a brand new unit. I really don’t want to have to send it back, I need the printer soon. Things I’ve tried are below:

-I have checked all belts (all Z belts and x-y) with a pro belt tensioner and the frequency app all are fine

-I have checked the gantry is totally square and level, with all screws tightened and no missing screws

-I have watched the printer closely and don’t see any drag on belts, etc.

Is this the Z1 stepper motor? What would cause this type of issue?

Since there are 4 rods, can you post a pic of the MAX pointing to what you are calling Z1 ..??

No problem, the Z1 is the front (closest to user and front display) to the left of that display. So facing the printer, the front, left rail and belt (not screw rods). This is important there are not 4 rods, they are four z belts.

i have the exact same issue in exact same position that you describe, front left and rear right, slant vfa like.

yes, that’s it. that’s the same artifact, same diagnosis.

This slant vfa wont go away,

changed left right sliding seat

square gantry

belts tuned

but left side always have these vfa

its a 50x50x7mm object for test with above outer inner and below inner outer, one is faster one is bit slower printed.

any possible solutions?

been through ellis guide several times but not sure whats causing this. can someone pinpoint the source of this issue.

The pictures are the top surface?

If so try and add “fade” to your [bed_mesh] configuration.

For your test set fade_end: 6. This should result in no Z axis moves in layers above 6mm.

Also try setting your top surface to “concentric” and see what that looks like.

its not the top surface its the left side wall of a rectangle 50x50x7mm

I’d start by editing the Sovol printer.cfg to stock Klipper values

Rerun the resonance calibration:

Don’t forger to manually set your max acceleration (X and Y) in Both your printer.cfg AND your slicer. Note: I set accelerations to 75% of the recommended values.

Finally run Orca’s VFA calibration.
