Sv08 max chamber fan saying needs to be installed

hello all! when i navigate to my fan options the part cooling and nozzle fans are fine but the aux and exhaust fans “needs to be installed” below each slider bar??? they work but how do i get that to go away? any help is much appreciated!

The message appears on the stock touchscreen?

You have an official Sovol enclosure?

sure do ! and they work but the screen says needs to be installed

@sovol3d

Unfortunately the display firmware is NOT open source. You can try reflashing it (file is on the wiki) but I doubt that would change anything.

Open a support ticket and be sure to complain about the lack of source code for the display. Sovol claims to be opensource in their promotional materials don’t actually post half of what they should.

Sovol doesn’t have control of the display screens, they are not open source.

I have the same problem. You are not alone lol. I am just manually controlling the fans for prints for now.

I have been exploring the SovolSlicer and looking for the gcode to see if I can activate the fans that way. I got lots to learn about 3D printing though. So its a backburner learning objective for me for now.

yea i picked this up second hand as the original guy gave up with al the issues . i have it dialed in pretty good for now . but they also claim there a chamber heater but i have yet to see it . i have the enclosure at the moment but no heater … .weird . looking at the mother board pin out i don’t even see an option for an additional heater or temp probe and the ui dosent seam to support it either..

The heater is an “add on”. Look at printer.cfg you’ll find

[include mainsail.cfg]
#[include chamber_hot.cfg
[include buffer_stepper.cfg]
[include timelapse.cfg]
[include plr.cfg][include Macro.cfg]
[include moonraker_obico_macros.cfg]

Note The second line is commented out. Looking at chamber_hot.cfg you’ll find it has it’s own MCU

[mcu hot_mcu]
canbus_uuid: 58a72bb93aa4

The chamber heater is not currently available to buy.

where can i get the heater? do you have a link? i did find the config so thank you for that!!!

It’s a DIY kit. Link is in the description for the video.

Watch the video as the build/installation/configuration process is somewhat complex.

It is NOT a plug and play solution.

Also: If you live in the US an additional 400w load May trip your breaker if all the heaters go 100% at the same time.

thanks for the info! thing i want to turn this thing into a massive tool changer as well.. so complexity it will be!!

How hot do you want it? I simply insulated the metal walls and chamber temps are in the mid-50’s printing ABS just relying on the bed heat alone. One needs to heatsoak the bed anyway, by the time that’s done the chamber is warmed up too.

What material did you use to insulate the walls?

Could you please provide a link to where you sourced it from ?

Thanks in advance

The link to their build guide is in @torch’s post above.

It seems to me that a product with adhesive backing would be easier than spray glue.

I provided a link to a full write-up with more details, but maybe you missed it:
