Stuck "system booting" after updating firmware

Hi there,

Had my SV08 a few days, and then read about updating the firmware.

Downloaded the .deb file, put it on a USB and put that in the printer… The printer restarted.
I’m now stuck at “system booting” on the small LCD screen. The device is still on the LAN, and i can use the GUI, but in the Gui / browser, I just see the error “mcu ‘mcu’: Unable to connect”

I’ve tried re updating the firmware (putting the .deb file back on a USB and going through again, that doesn’t change anything.

I’ve also tried replacing the printer.cfg file, again no change.

I also had a look at checking the USB connectivity using “ls -al /dev/serial/by-id/” which comes back with “…/…/ttyACM0”. I’ve tried updating the printer.cfg to change the mcu to “/dev/ttyACM1” or /dev/ttyACM0, and that also made no difference.

Really frustrating, as I was pretty happy with the device until this point!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi,
Can’t you update the firmware with a SD card ?

There are 2 firmware files for the SV08 listed, with & without EMMC adapter.

If that doesn’t help,open a ticket with Sovol: info@sovol3d.com

I don’t currently have an EMMC adapter to do the one directly to the EMMC. I did the updates by USB originally.

But the fact the printer actually boots and i get the web interface, and the fact the .deb file gets deleted from the USB suggests the process is going through.

Hoping Sovol can help here… not the greatest experience so far :frowning:

Oh, and yes, i sent an email to Sovol too. Thanks!

In this case, I suggest you wait a few days.
