position_endstop in section ‘stepper_z’ must be between position_min and position_max Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the “RESTART” command to reload the config and restart the host software. Printer is halted
Any idea what to do ? This is what Im seeing when I start my printer after doing a leveling operation ,and my Sonic Pad wont wont connect to the printer so I cant alter any settings !!! Hope you can help , have a great weekend
Sonic pad? Do you mean the Sovol Klopad50?
Are you running Klipper or Marlin?
If your machine has been “klipperized” I’d rebuild/reflash the mainboard firmware.
Im using , sorry was using very successfully Creality Sonic pad ,on my Sovol SV,06 Plus ,and then had a problem with the z height ajusted it a tad lowerd it ,it it said save ? I did ,and it rebooted, and since then this comes up on the screen , and says the printer is disconnected ! Have I got to reflash ? And if , is there a firmware / file i can download with the sonic pad in it ?
You should really be asking this on a Creality forum, the only way we could help is if a user has a Sonic Pad hooked up.
Who helped you get the SV06 Plus and the Sonic pad to work together?
SV06 shipped with Marlin firmware.
Is there a SD card in the slot on the printer mainboard? If it has the Marlin firmware file on it is possible the motherboard flashed that firmware. With the USB cable disconnected power up the printer and see what the attached display says.
As far as I know Sonic pad only supports Klipper printers. The Sonic pad could be hacked to run Octoprint but I don’t think that is your situation.
Sovol did sell a upgrade package with a Klipad50 (and a bracket) to Klipperize the SV06 Plus. With that system the firmware is compiled on the host machine (Sonic Pad in your case) or another Linux computer running the EXACT same version of Klipper as the host.

The stock printer.cfg file for the SV06 Plus is here. It contains the settings needed to setup “makemenu” need to set up the compiler.
Once you have the .bin file see your manual for the SV06 on how to flash firmware.
My , I almost said friend ! Helped me , and when I have a problem ,now Ive become a pain in the arse for him ! Ive been 3d printing stuff for 7 years and all was well till I was told upgrade your game get a faster better 3D printer .I had a first generatiion German RepRap Voron 3 with Simplify slicer , all simple all basic .Then i was launched into 2024 with a Sovol SV06 then was told a must have was the Creality Sonic pad etc etc , now im not a techy and it all got over my head .And now Ive alterd the z height because when I started the print ,all of a sudden the nozzle was dragging on the bed ,ajusted the height as shown , then it wrote do I want to the keep new setting , I pressed ok , it rebooted and that was it ! It tells me the printer is not connected , and ofcourse it is , and now the person who help me get into all this zech is to buisy to help . I just want to 3D print not get a Diploma for being a smart arse ! Hope you get this ordinary person who loves 3D printing !!
Okay the simplest path is to flash the printer back to stock Sovol firmware.
The Sonic pad gets disconnected and is no longer used.
You are back to writing sliced files to SD card with your PC and moving the card to the printer.
OR we can try and debug the sonic pad and printer.
Is there a SD card in the printer (or was there at the time of the reboot that broke things)?
Unplug USB from printer, remove SD card (if there is one) and power on the printer. Watch the printer display and tell us what is displayed (video it if you want)
So up to date , I pressed the reflash the Software and reflash the Klipper and it rebooted and now Im back to the first thing it said on the Sonic Pad , what country ,what time , the whole new progaming the software section by section . I have not got the Sovol screen on the printer but can reconnect it and flash the software to standard Sovol SV06 Plus .There was not sd card in the printer when this all went wrong .Can I plug my printer into my computer using the LAN cable? As I have such a long cable with a mini USB plug on it .Then do away with the Sonic pad and go back to some thing I understand more ! I hope ! Thank you for your help in my many hours of need ! Hear from you soon I hope
Okay, you can do this.
Get the manual for the sonic pad
Start at the beginning and do every step until you get to " 2.7 Printer firmware flashing (upgrade via SD/TF card)". Stop and skip to Section 12 (page 24)
The printer.cfg file you need is at
The motherboard parameters are:
# STM32F103 with a "28KiB bootloader" and serial (on USART1 PA10/PA9)
# communication.
The Sonic pad will compile the firmware and walk you through the flash process.
I will take my Horlicks and get on with it ! Thank you very much !! here goes !!
try usb stick in other ports. Unplug the cable an try USB stick in port #1
reformat USB to FAT32. Be sure to eject the drive before pulling it out of your PC
First mistake discoverd ! You have to put the sd card in the USB then download !! But its been 20 minutes on downloading and still not finished !
It will take several minutes to compile the firmware
Its been an hour so far
That seems excessive.
There are instructions on Creality’s github on how to build a Ubuntu virtual machine on your PC and compile the firmware in it. Seems the early version of the sonic pad didn’t have the compiler ported to the GUI.
固件编译指导书-20220919.pdf (2.6 MB)
It has English instructions along side the Chinese
Did you get the Sonic Pad connected to your network? If so you could SSH in and run the compiler from the command line.
As I have said before Im not a techy and have not used SSH and all that and yes my Sonic pad does get online via wifi . And the program did one start to download and said now put the sd card in the printer , then switch the printer on and it all went back to square 1 , land , wifi etc etc . If only this was all on YouTube ,with somebody who knows what there talking and showing thick people like me what to do .But I did find out the USB needed a little waggle to get it connected ! Oh well life goes on ! Not the printer but life ! Better than nothing !
Ive been there but it didnt work for me ! But Iwill try again and maybe it works this time ! I may have even learnt some thing since then .But thank you anyway ! here goes !!!
