If one misses the April 10 ship date, when will next ship date be?
Usually when Sovol starts shipping, they will add another Chart to the main page for the next batch.
I waited two days for a shipping notification that didn’t arrive so I emailed Sovol at the end of the business day today and they responded quickly, telling me that the Zero started shipping in the US on 10APR25 and they’re shipping in the order they received the orders. I ordered my Zero on 28MAR25. Has anyone in the US received a shipping notification, or received their Zero?
Yes, I received my shipping email late in the day on the 10th.
Yesterday UPS posted that it will be here on the 16th.
My Zero was delivered on April 4th.
You can’t tease us like that. Nine days later, do you like your Zero? Any quirks? Pleasant surprises? Disappointments? There were few reviews of the pre-production early units and I haven’t seen anything from paying customers who received an early production unit.
Based on your delivery date, are you in Europe?
Location: North America. I don’t know why it shipped out as early as it did.
Things are mostly good so far. I think I have to adjust the Z-offset a little bit, it seems a little too low.
I’ve finished my first functional print, an AC hose adapter to connect the exhaust fan of the Zero to vent out a window.
The 16mm long M3 bolt to attach the run-out sensor is too short, as noted by some video reviews. Definitely plan on getting a 20mm long M3.
Next I’m going to create a filter adapter to replace the top glass. This is so when I’m printing PLA or something that doesn’t need a heated chamber, I can still keep the door closed and vent to the outside. I will adapter a commonly available 10in x 10in filter that sits in place of the glass and allows the heat to rise up without allowing fumes / micro-particles out.
I would like to see some of your mods, so please post them when done.
Thanks for the initial report on your Zero. I have some mods planned as well and already have the parts… just waiting on the Zero. Hopefully it ships this week. I’ll upload mods to Printables and Thingiverse and post a link on this forum.
Can you share more about your planned mods?
I ordered some light gray PLA-LW (lightweight foaming PLA) so I can print little thermally insulated tiles to magnetically adhere to the inside of the steel panels on the sides and back of the Zero, and an insulated top panel to replace the glass top that uses square assembly pegs. I’ll probably make a version that prints small heat shield tiles on the Zero, and a version that prints entire panels in a single piece on the SV08. The top panel will have an activated carbon HEPA filter to remove fumes and fine particulates. The goal is to have a larger and more effective filter, but mostly to add thermal insulation to allow much more effective passive chamber heating that can hopefully reach 60 C instead of 50 C. I bought a little AA battery powered LCD thermometer/hygrometer to mount inside the Zero so I can see the chamber temperature at a glance even though the Mainsail interface also displays chamber temperature on my computer.
I print a lot of TPU and I prefer to feed it into a direct drive extruder from an overhead bearing spindle spool holder, and not routed through a reverse Bowden tube. I’ll probably add an extension cord for the filament run out sensor so I can mount it on top of the 3D printed enclosure lid. I’ll probably design the 3D printed insulated lid with four filament holes in case I decide to add the BondTech INDX system when it is hopefully available in several months. I don’t plan on printing four color prints. I’m interested in the INDX so I can load TPU, PLA, ABS and PETG-CF at the same time and print with whatever filament I like without needing to swap filaments, and also so I can print contrasting color text for a couple of layers on the top or bottom of the part, or PLA as an easy release support interface material on PETG-CF parts, or TPU feet on a PETG-CF part, or some other application that only requires 1-5 filament changes per part.
I was hoping my Zero would ship on April 10th. The 15th of April has passed without a shipping notification. Others in the US have already received their Zero printer from the first production batch. I’m hoping my Zero hasn’t been bumped to the next batch with a lengthy delay. I bought the Zero to print TPU parts for my business, one at a time with the door open and auto ejected into a bin for perpetual manufacturing without manually unloading parts. Hang a spool of filament and it runs a spool of parts. How cool is that?
I ordered my Zero on the 10th also. Sovol Customer Service said it would ship before the end of the month. I haven’t heard anything yet either.
On the Sovol live stream tonight, I asked about the revised US shipping date as the “April 10th” date shown on the Zero web page is clearly outdated. They said the shipment is due to arrive in the US at the end of the month and if there are no problems, shipments to customers would happen soon after that. We should hopefully be getting our Zero printers in two weeks.
I still wish Sovol would update the shipping date on the website to keep us informed so we aren’t wondering. I remember them doing that for the SV08. When a batch had shipped, the shipping date updated to the next batch of printers being imported.
If this is the second batch of Zero printers, the first must have been a small batch. There aren’t many Zero review videos on YouTube but I’m not seeing anyone posting customer Zero videos, nor am I seeing much Zero activity in this forum.
Sovol Livestream? Where is that ?
I’m subscribed to Sovol’s YouTube channel and watch the live streams there. They’re also live streamed on Facebook.
Usually every Thursday around 9:30PM EST.
I received notification that a shipping label was printed last night for the Zero that I purchased on 28MAR25 and UPS took possession this afternoon. It’s scheduled for delivery in two days.
The Sovol Zero web page is still showing 10APR25 as the shipping date so there is no telling when a Zero ordered today would actually be delivered.
Sovol told me my zero would ship before the end of April. I reached out to them yesterday to see if they had any updates, the reply I got was an automated message that said they will be closed from May 1 through May 5th for Chinese labor day holiday. does anyone have any updated information about the shipments from the April 10th batch? (Shipping to US)
My Zero arrived yesterday. I ordered it on 28MAR25, so the delivery took a month in the US. I believe mine might have been from the second batch imported into the US? It shipped from Bayonne New Jersey. I don’t know why Sovol needs to be so opaque about their importation and shipping. With the launch of previous printers, they’d revise their website to reflect the realistic expected shipping date as each scheduled container ship from China was pre-purchased so we had a better idea what to expect when the order was placed. The Zero website launched with a US shipping date of 10APR25 and that’s still the expected shipping date even though that hasn’t been accurate for at least a month. Most people are OK with a delayed delivery on a new printer but we’d like a reasonably accurate estimate of how long we might need to wait. This is a case where no news isn’t nearly as good as giving us the bad news. The current system is essentially, “Pay us now and we’ll ship whenever we can… but it’s a secret.”
On the plus side, I think you’ll like the Zero when it eventually arrives. It’s a solid little speed demon, but it is a bit noisy - stepper motors and fans.
On the other plus side, I suspect sales are leveling off as production is ramping up so hopefully you won’t have too much longer to wait.
