Hi, so I got my sv08 for 4 weeks now, I have random under extrusion problem with it which after trying a lot of things which are:
-Printing fix to hold pin in from Valerie Moore
-Drying all filaments
-Reinstalling and Updating firmware and Orca slicer
-Dismantling whole extruder to check if anything is in gears (nothing there absolutely clean)
-Testing all various speeds and temperatures relevant for filament (PLA and PETG)
-Buying 4 different brands of filament (Filament PM,Sunlu,Gembird,Spectrum Premium) even Sovol PLA that came with printer
-Multiple calibrations of Z offset and Quad gantry
-Testing all various Extruder Handscrew tenstions (from loose to maximum tension)
-Changing Nozzle for new
-Trying filament straight to extruder ( without PTFE tube )
-Printing with all default settings , even trying to print Benchy from stick that came with printer
My suspicion is that gears are far away from each other and cannot bite well the filament , I tried to print extruder lever that will move gears closer to eachother, but i have problem of removing pin that holds lever in.
Is there any advice i can get? my bite marks on filament are really small compared to my friend sv08 at maximum tension
With no filament loaded does the tension lever touch the extruder body? (red arrow)
Note the washer goes outside the lever - (blue arrow)
This looks a lot like the idler gear shaft issue which I also ran into. Please have a look at the last entry in Suddenly poor print quality on two SV08's - solved with extruder idler gear - #16 by wrusman to find my solution.
Free floating pins in the extruder?!?
@sovol3d Is Sovol shipping “flagship” printers with an known issue from the previous model?
I don’t know about the previous model (is that SV07 you are talking about?) but it certainly is an issue on the SV08.
I was referring to the SV08. It appears 80% of the Zero toolhead is directly from the SV08 including the feed rollers (gears) and the tension lever.
This post is about the SV08 not the Zero. Do you have a Zero to check if it still an issue there?
Oops - I got my threads confused.
I haven’t seen anything on the Zero that sounds like this issue.
