Preflash SV08 Emmc 32g

My Preflash Emmc 32g Wont start up printer. Costantly displayes system booting

The module came with software installed? Do you have a dongle to re-flash it?

I could never get my SolVol 08 out of booting mode when I downloaded the SolVol up grade off Wiki. So I put back in my eMMC that came with the printer and it got restored back to where I had it.

The other day I attempted to install the SolVol 5 inch touch screen and followed the very small instructions that came with it to upgrade the software to allow the touch screen to function. I downloaded the memory stick with the suggested .deb file from the wiki page and after turning on the machine plugged in the stick. As I was watching the Orca screen I had a strange smell in the room and noticed extreme smoke coming off the hot end. I quickly shut down the machine and prepared my fire equipment.

I had no fire but the heat melt a spot in the cover and turn the extruded tip black as well as the heater wires and thymistef wires burnt.

I dissemble ( unplugged the heater and thymister and tried to restart the machine but now the screen only says booting. The Orca program is giving several error relating to emc not connecting.

Please help. We’re do I go from here. I have printer several items with this machine but now it’s been down more then up. Should I just buy a Bambu because I am not a programming guru?

Can you post a picture of or link to the instructions you followed.

What is the link to the .deb file you downloaded?

The heater runaway on power up is usually caused by klipper identifying the toolhead MCU as the main MCU. That throws all the pin mappings off.

Heater pin → extra_mcu PB9
MCU pin PB9 → enable pin for the Y-axis stepper.

I’m pretty sure that .deb file isn’t for a SV08. You’ll need to flash the EMMC back to stock.

For what it’s worth the “Booting” message on the knob screen is a hard codded splash screen that displays until the main MCU sends data.

The HDMI port on the back of your printer should be “live” with the stock firmware. The new screen should be 100% plug and play. USB for touch input HDMI for video.

These are the instruction I received with my screen.

I down loaded the bottom Solvol_update _ package on a 32g U disk. I then started up my Solvol 08 and once up I plugged in the u drive. The screen then went blank and the came back up with booting on the screen I went to pay attention to my Orca screen and then I smelled the death smoke coming off the hot end.

I now have the machine down again.
Are my tool head cards done for? I can’t tell anything from clipper because Orca says klipper can talk to the printer even before I unplugged the thyristor and heater.
Can you guide me back

I don’t see where you went wrong.

The error messages tell me both MCUs are running. Klipper seems to think whey are running the wrong version of the Klipper firmware. What I don’t understand is how the version mismatch happened.

You could re-flash both MCU’s but unless you flashed them once they should already match Sovol’s fork of Klipper. I’d contact @sovol3d support by email (info@sovol3d.com) and see what they have to say. From here it looks like their firmware upgrade broke your printer.
