Emmc 32gb

Hi
I have a SVO8 Max on order with kickstarter and have asked Sovol if they would be able to fit a 32GB EMMC instead of the 8GB and what cost it would be

Hi. We answer it on Kickstarter.

@sovol3d

Unless I misunderstand his post…
I think he wants Sovol to install it before the printer is shipped…or…
like maybe one of your goals being meet, users can get an upgrade.

Hi
Yes i asked if they had a paid service to install it pre delivery , but they said no ,
Have know asked if will sell a preflashed EMMC on its own .
Only asked this as i have a T500 that had to be flashed and it was a pain, alsoi have seen people have had problems with the SVO8 with a 8GB and the 32GB solved it

You can buy something like this if you don’t want Sovol’s.

Then you can copy the 8GB to a computer & re-flash a copy to the 32GB yourself.

As Lion said moving the installation to another EMMC is not hard, assuming you have a PC with enough storage to hold the image file (unless you want to get 2 of the USB adapters).

You’ll need to resize the file system after image installation

You can also mount a USB drive and redirect read/writes to /home/sovol/printer_data/gcodes to use the USB drive.

Already got one when I flashed my T500 was just seeing if they would supply it from the start.
And they told me this is an advanced modification and not officially supported under warranty.

Hello,

Thanks for your support!
Yes, the printer is equipped with a standard 8GB eMMC module, which is widely used across the industry. While the system itself and necessary files do occupy a portion of the memory, there is typically around 2.3GB of available storage remaining for G-code files and user operations.
That said, we’ve made several optimizations to ensure reliable long-term performance:

  1. Log management: Print logs are automatically maintained and optimized to avoid memory bloat.
  2. Storage monitoring: The system will proactively notify users if the available memory drops below 80MB, and prompt to delete unnecessary local files.
  3. Performance assurance: Even during long prints, the system remains stable and responsive, with no risk of freezing due to memory limitations.

If you still prefer to upgrade to a larger-capacity eMMC (e.g., 32GB or 64GB), it is technically possible, though it would require flashing the system image manually. Please note that this is an advanced modification and not officially supported under warranty, but many advanced users in the community have successfully done this.
