No boot Klipperscreen

Hello, on my Sovol 07 Plus the Klipperscreen no longer starts up after updating to the latest firmware? The clipper screen goes to the logo then the screen goes dark. I ask for help. Printer was purchased from you last year.

I was able to read the following with Putty, but then the board kicked me out

Iā€™m having very similar problem, also an SV07+. Maybe even a bit worse. Where you load a retrieved image a few lines before the Ramdisk section, mine fails for ā€œfailure to retrieve kernel.ā€ After that, nothing but errors and BOOTP broadcasts.

This happened when I shut down the printer in preparation to upload the new firmware. Never even inserted the USB drive to try it because the screen never came back on.

Congrats, you will now need to get the mks emmc v2.0 adapter to flash the latest imageā€¦
Did it today three times :unamused:

You will get the image from the Sovol Documents Website.
And this is the direct link to the correct Download.

Ah, when you finished flashing.
Block these apt packages over ssh:
apt-mark hold linux-image-edge-rockchip64 linux-dtb-edge-rockchip64 linux-u-boot-mkspi-edge

Be patient with:
apt update && apt upgrade -y
It will upgrade 128 packages and took me 20 minutes to update.

Also remove the vnstat eth0 file:
sudo rm -rf /var/lib/vnstat/eth0

Greetings DrR00T90

How does on ā€œremoveā€ those files?

Iā€™ve tried your procedure but I got:
mks@mkspi:~$ sudo apt-mark hold linux-image-edge-rockchip64 linux-dtb-edge-rockc hip64 linux-u-boot-mkspi-edge
linux-image-edge-rockchip64 set on hold.
linux-dtb-edge-rockchip64 set on hold.
linux-u-boot-mkspi-edge set on hold.

mks@mkspi:~$

Oh, thatā€™s unfortunate. The armbian version running on the Makerbase board is based on Debian 10, aka ā€œBusterā€:

mks@mkspi:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID:	Debian
Description:	Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
Release:	10
Codename:	buster

This is now an old version, the current version of Debian is 12 aka ā€œbookwormā€.
It seems like armbian have switched to bookworm, and removing buster from apt.armbian.com. I have only checked a few mirrors (open in your web browser, the look in the dists folder), but there is only bookworm, bullseye, trixie and sid there now.

I wonder how we will be able to upgrade our Makerbase boards now?
