i bought a sovol svo7 plus on 10/21/24 . i had it stored till I had room for it, and 2 weeks ago i put it together 2 weeks ago and i finally got it working fine. had a few miss prints but now i had it on my wifi, using orca slicer and it worked well. but last night, i left it running and it shut down. no reason why, i checked fuse but it looks fine. now it just wont turn on. what can I do?
Yup. I think we are talking on 2 posts, urs and mine.lol
thanks for everything, it works now. your the best.
Hi all, new to having my own 3D printer as of 2 days now, and I was very excited to work out the calibration process and start my first ‘real’ print today when my printer shut off without warning. I didn’t want to open a new thread since this one is fairly recent and the same issue. I tried swapping out power cords and outlets and checked the fuse in the switch. The fuse is intact and there’s no smell of burning or even hot electric components. I also tried taking the fuse out and reinstalling it without the helper clip and changing its orientation. It wasn’t a run-away thermal issue either as it never went above normal PLA printing or bed temp.
Any ideas?
Also, if it tries to resume the print, should I assume it’s scrapped after being mid-print at least several hours?
Have you checked if the voltage switch is on the right value ?
Yes, I set that as part of assembly, and it worked for the first day of printing. Probably approaching a total active time of 4 hours. It died earlier today (haven’t slept yet so same day to me). Forgot to mention that I had set that switch, so thanks for checking.
Could you test your power supply ?
I checked the fuse and tried a different cord. What other test could I do? I don’t have a multimeter if you mean testing the recessed male prongs.
(BTW I’ll likely come back to this several hours from now.)
I haven’t tried opening it up to see if the power switch wiring has come loose. How likely is that to be the problem vs needing to give up and ask Sovol to replace the whole thing? I definitely can’t return it to the store.
I emailed info at sovol so I’ll see what they come up with. I’ll try to remember to update here on the troubleshooting and solution (I hope!), as finding this thread helped me to do the initial checking of the fuse so it may be useful to others in the future.
As I said before, have you checked if the voltage switch is on the right value ?
Yes:
@mich0111 Success, thanks! Support sent me the steps to remove enough to get to the power connections. I felt more confident having their written instructions in case of a disagreement on warranty later.
Nothing was loose, but unseating and re-seating the connectors from the mb to the PSU worked. I am now happily printing a hex key handle. Just in case I need to open it up again in the future.
