Have owned printer for about a week and had several successful prints. Started a print last night and upon waking printer had stopped mid operation and restarted itself. Power cycled the printer and was able to change filament and print a small test print. The printer then started a new print and shut off right away. Now the printer will not turn back on. Any thoughts??
Overheating? Trouble with the power supply? Bad cables or connections?
You need to do a bit more troubleshooting.
Tried 2 separate power cables with no result. Fuse was tested with multimeter and passed. Moved printer to a different room and it turned on, but is shutting down when attempting to heat the extruder or bed. Any thoughts?
After sending earlier message, i have been unable to turn on printer. Any additional troubleshooting steps to perform?
The “shuts down on heater load” followed by nothing at all sounds like a failed power supply.
Measure input volts at screw terminals on the motherboard.
Also the sniff test can be helpful. Sniff the fan opening on the PS. If it smells like an electrical fire…
So there is a very noticable smell coming from the fan opening and thought this might be cause. I have only owned the printer since the 3rd of april where it was purchase new from microcenter, am i liable for the power supply?

Or buy a higher quality unit for $35 and put the genuine Sovol one on eBay a month from now when it finally gets here.
