First boot Klipper error

Thanks for your help as well.

you’re very welcome  and i am very interested in the solution - it seems i have a very similar problem with my months ago finished fysetc voron 2.4 kit - i seem to be to dumb to get the software running, having no connection from raspberry to spyder board, but i am a total klipper beginner. hope you get a solution, and would thank you for posting it here. my sv08 max came with a bad crimp on the auxiliary buffer can-cable, and sovol was quick to replace it, i am happy with their support @sovol3d

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Because of the time difference and the weekend, we can’t reply to you quickly. If you can’t receive the reply, please send message to me.

Why don’t you staff your support center 24 hours? I don’t know how many people you employ in support but it seems that if Sovol wants to be known for good customer service they should have live support for all time zones.

So It’s been a week now, and I have gotten 3 emails from you…all with instructions to check wiring. Can we get this resolved so I can actually use the machine I paid for? I also placed an order back on August 19th for the SV08 enclosure kit, which, after being paid for has been in the “confirmed” status with no more communication for almost 3 weeks now. Can ANYONE at Sovol get back to me on this?

Can you give me the order number of enclosure. I will check for it.

PM Sent

Been a month now with a non-working Max and no movement on the enclosure I bought for the SV08. A month since I paid for both of them.

Hi,

I know it’s very annoying and very irritating (I’ll be too), but you sent your PM three days ago.

I waited for almost 2 weeks after I contacted them through the main site before I even posted here not only about the problems with the Max, but also asking about my other order on the main site about this. This forum is not the only way to get in contact with Sovol. If it weren’t for users like Cardoc taking their own time to try and help, I would be MUCH more frustrated, trust me. It’s been 3 days since activity has happened on this forum, but this forum doesn’t reflect other attempts at trying to get all of this resolved. Point is, taking the money for a product (2 actually) and then not communicating with the customer is just poor practice.

I think Sovol is a victim of its own success. It’s a small company whose after-sale service department isn’t probably equipped to handle a large number of complaints.

They do their best but it’s probably not always sufficient.
I can understand how this would be particularly irritating and frustrating.

@sovol3d could you do something ?

They just sent me a message saying now it will be October before they ship. If you aren’t equipped to handle a large number of complaints, perhaps you mitigate that by ensuring your products work and you have sufficient stock before selling them. Most customers (me included) understand nothing works perfectly, be it a product or business, but at the bare minimum communicate with the customers in a timely manner to mitigate frustration.

@sovol3d 14 days and not even a PREPOSED solution for this lemon? This is very disappointing.

They decided to send me a new toolhead board for the Max….and will ship my enclosure for the SV08 “In October”…so we’ll see….I should have ordered all this in January…lol.

The toolhead board is stopping the host from accessing the main MCU??

I hope it helps.

Who knows? I guess this is the next step after making sure all the wires are connected. Let’s just say my confidence is low.

Hey @cardoc You and I chatted on the discourse about some of this. I have the ZERO toolhead running on my SV08 and working 100% but I am thinking the same way as you and that is the only way to update the MCU on the toolhead is to flash the .bin with an ST-link. Then I can install klipper to it very easily after that. I have never been successful in getting it to update with any of the supplied script files from Sovol. I just find it impossible to get the TH into DFU mode with out the ST-Link.

So…here we are a month later and I finally received a new main board and wiring harness. Let’‘s see if this works. I’m basically rebuilding a product I paid for, on their time and my labor. What a great company.:face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Surprise Update! It didn’t.

@sovol3d Your warranty folks sh*t the bed. Seems you should make an effort to rectify the situation.

Toolhead board via next day air?

45 days and their printer has never booted once…
