Can someone help me? I have a brand new sovol sv08. Just set it up the night before last, spent yesterday fine tuning all the steps according to some tutorial videos I watched since there wasn’t really a section for that, printed a benchy test, everything was fine, but then mid doing it’s little line it prints at the front of the bed, it suddenly stopped printing but the printer was going like it was printing. I was so frustrated I waited until today to start working with it, then while I set it to heat the extruder to 240, it got to 45 degrees, then gave me an error code: 7, so tried again and it gave the same error code. What the heck? why can’t I print anything???
Edit: It seems the extruder is not heating but everything is plugged in.
Have you opened a support ticket with Sovol? If not email them the above to info@sovol3d.com. Be sure to include your order number.
If I had to guess I’d suspect the ceramic heater was cracked halfway when it arrived. A few heat cycles and it broke the rest of the way. Remove the silicone sock and slide the clip off. I bet you find the ceramic heater is in 2 pieces.
For what it’s worth. Those heater blocks are pretty generic (except the new Zero). Creality, Bambo, Flashforge and others all use identical heaters EXCEPT they have different lead length and plugs.
I’m 95% sure this would work.
But you’ll have to find someplace to tuck the extra wire length to keep it from snagging your print. The actual heat block goes in the bin. Everything else looks like it will fit your SV08
