My first issue was my filament got clogged but that lead directly to my Extruder not heating up with an error code of 7 on the display, which lead me to buy a whole new Sovol SV08 All Metal High Flow Hotend Kit.
My second issue after installing the new Hotend kit which had everything including the two cables (heater and sensor) when I sent the printer to home, the z-axis is too low and the print head was just hitting the bed hard and the gantry bouncing around until I did an emergency stop, which took me about 2-3 seconds to click.
I looked up ways to find out if the auto leveling sensor might be bad by using my allen wrench to measure the QUERY_PROBE by raising the allen wrench until the red led light went out and then sending QUERY_PROBE through the Console which always comes back as “open”, never “triggered”.
So now I have one of these auto leveling sensors inbound (tomorrow) but I feel this still doesn’t fix the unable to heat the Extruder from either the GUI or the LCD screen. But I can’t try until I get this printer to go home first.
Any help on fixing home or more info on why my Extruder didn’t heat up?
I’ve tried sending home twice and both times, before the new Hotend was replaced and afterwards it sent the gantry just bouncing and the Hotend banking on the bed.
All this happened after my Filament clogged after doing several perfect prints.
I had sought help via email to support through SOVOL but that has dried up, no responses for several days and I seriously would like some help. I’ve even tried the Discord channels. But so far, nothing is working. I’ve only had this SV08 Standard since Feb 2026.
Do you only use the display or connect via the device page in orca.
My first thought is you are not connecting to the toolhead. If that was the case Klipper should have errored before enabling the motors so [home all] should have done nothing.
Get Orca connected and copy the error messages shown in the console.
AND always raise the gantry 50ish mm by hand before powering on a “flying gantry” printer like the SV08.
I am connected through Mainsail/Klipper, not only the LCD. The toolhead MCU is communicating. QUERY_PROBE returns probe: open, but remains open even when metal is placed directly at the proximity sensor. The probe is configured on extra_mcu:PB6. Auto Home drives the nozzle into the bed because the probe never transitions to TRIGGERED. I have already provided the Klipper error logs and screenshots but I’ll do that yet again on this email.
When the failure below happens I have an Error Code 7 on the LCD screen.

When I try to send home the auto , it takes the assembly below the bottom, and I don’t want to do that again. Every time it fails I have to turn off the printer to reset it.
Am I correct in understanding that you installed a new or different print head on the printer, and that’s when the problems started? Is this also a Sovol SV08 kit, or is it some other one?
No, nothing new was installed before the problems started happening.
When I got a clog I could no longer get the Extruder to heat up to allow me to unclog and it still doesn’t heat up even after replacing the hotend.
And the sensor doesn’t trigger when getting close to the bed/metal. The sensor doesn’t trigger when QUERY_PORT is sent through the console. It stays “open”.
Two of the Three problems fixed. But the Not Heating up and Not Sensing is my need for help.
The kit was purchased through sovol’s amazon store.
