SV07 Plus support

Does SOVOL support the SV07 Plus anymore? There’s nothing on their web page in the support section - I can’t get Firmware for it - and they don’t even sell it anymore, which is telling.

My printer won’t even turn on - the display freezes on boot up, which seems like a common problem. The link to the image from Tom Olsen’s GitHub page doesn’t work anymore, and to be honest getting into the flashing and changing lines of code that I’m seeing is beyond my skill set.

Looking for help with this lemon. Thanks.

Firmware has been moved the the Wiki:

Every printer before the ACE has been discontinued.

There are 2 parts to the SV07 system. The printer itself and the Klipad. It sounds like your issue is with the Klipad.

The Klipad is based on the MKS Pi. Unfortunately the display panel used didn’t have kernel support when released so the OEM firmware includes a custom kernel.

Newer Armbian builds support all of the hardware without a custom Kernel.

The link above will walk you through the process of updating your Klipad.

NOTE: The SV07 doesn’t have load cells or any other oddball hardware and is perfectly happy on vanilla mainline Klipper. Once you’re on mainline lots of support is available at:

It is also stupid simple to attach your printer to a generic host computer. I ran mine for a month using an OLD laptop while waiting for parts from Sovol.

@cardoc Thanks for posting that link, it looks promising. I tried to update the OS on my own in my SV07 Plus a while back and it did not go well! Fortunately I had backed up my working eMMC first so I could revert everything. But your link looks like a proven update path, so I may just try again following those directions.

Sovol’s never been the best in after-sales support. That said, they will usually respond to direct e-mails and even after they stopped listing the SV07 Plus and associated parts I was able to order some replacement parts via email. I imagine that will only be true so long as left over parts are still cluttering up a warehouse shelf though.

It’s too bad. It makes it real hard to recommend Sovol products to newcomers. Why would I buy an M1D when they won’t stand behind my existing units? I think they’re cutting their own throat.
