SV06 Tip clogged - is this fixable?

The nozzle of my printer clogged. Upon closer inspection there was a lot of “leakage” of filament around the nozzle housing so I took the hood off to take a closer look and it looks terrible.

Is this something that can be cleaned or do I need a new extruder assembly?

Also, what are some possible causes so I can try to avoid this in the future?

Did you have the sock on…??
What kind of filament was this…??

It is fixable…
set the extruder on the plate & just plug in the hotend & heat it up to around 260* , let it sit for about 20 min & then start pulling off the filament with tweezers.

It did have a sock on it. This was under the sock.
It was PLA filament.

To confirm, don’t re-assemble but lay it on the plate?

You can re-attach it if your more comfortable…
but it will be harder for you to see everything you have to remove.

EDIT: You will have to replace the fan shroud or print a new one, it looks like it has been cut away.

Hmm. I don’t know what a fan shroud is. I removed the entire unit from the machine. The only thing I took off was the rubber sock around the whole thing.

Could a missing fan shroud have caused the problem?

Hi,
There could also be a leak in the heatbreaker.
I had the same problem, and after tightened the nozzle, it fixed the problem.

This looked like it was cut, if you didn’t, then it’s fine.

EDIT: I just pulled mine to look at it, yours is fine…there is no damage to the duct.

Ok. Finally got around to trying to clean this. I wasn’t able to do a very good job.
A couple of questions.

When it got up to about 240 degrees it started to smell like burning something. Was that just filament smell? Should I be able to get this thing cleaner?

Also, the fan to the right of the tip wasn’t spinning. Did that maybe somehow burn out during this whole escapade?

Burning smell was most likely filament.
The fan doesn’t come on if you just heat the nozzle.
You can get the block cleaner if you remove the nozzle. (only once it’s heated up)
