It’s a pity
Good evening
The other, more tedious solution is to extend all Sovol Cura settings and manually copy them into Cura 5.7.2.
That’s what I meant by copying them manually.
After almost two months, I’m getting much, much closer to resolving my issues with the sv06 Plus.
A lot of back and forth but the Sovol engineers agreed there was a problem with the machine, First they sent fans and a mounting plate, that solution didn’t work! They then diagnosed the issue as an extruder problem and sent me the entire extruder assembly which cleared up a large amount of the problem,
I am still waiting for their response to a final issue, which I’ll ask you folks to take a stab at. You see from the attached photos that my fine stringing issues have been cured. All that remains is what you see on a photo of a temperature tower. The bridging has a lot of hanging, thicker, filament. This is taking place at all temperature ranges which makes me want to think it could be printing too fast, or the flow is too high. Whatever the cause, with a replacement extruder assembly I doubt a mechanical issue, and suspect it’s in the programming of the sliced print.
Please, if you have any ideas let me know. After over two months trying to work this through, I’m anxious to start printing again. In the photos, new prints are on the right side, older issues on the left.
Thanks again!
Hi,
Could you tell us which filament you use ?
Sure can.
The filament is Elegoo PLA.
Overnight I received a response to the query from Sovol who say it’s possibly caused by a faulty extruder fan, the fan not having been turned on, or an issue with Gcode model file, which I don’t know how to find…
Cura shows the fan is on. As I posted originally the entire front end has been replaced so I find it hard to believe the fan isn’t working (but I will check). Sovol asked that I try again with the default slicer settings although that’s the picture included, but I’ll try again.
All ideas are welcome at this point.
There have been a lot of posts on “another forum” about Elegoo filament problems.
Try another brand if you have it.
Gcode is the sliced file that you put on the SD Card.
If your SD Card is starting to go, it will not read the Gcode properly.
Try the file on a different SD Card.
Lion,
Thanks, I’ll try another brand tomorrow afternoon.
The fan setting is actually in 2 places, there is a overriding setting in the filament settings a lot of users don’t know unless you looked…
I use it for PETG & ASA.
Thanks Lion,
Both fan settings are on, so that’s something that can be ruled out.
Hi,
It seems you have a notification from the cura marketplace.
One of the plugins has an update. Click on it, then click the gear icon & scroll until you find it.
It’s not fair, you are giving the whole solution.
Ureka - The solution has been found! Turns out there was a problem with the extruder. Sovol replaced it and I’m back in business for the most part. Just a bit more tweaking of the slicer and I should be back at 100%.
It took a bit too long (to my liking) for Sovol to issue a replacement part but in their defense diagnosing via long distance is terribly tricky. I’m now printing again with just a few irregularities that I’ll keep plugging away at. I’m convinced they can be addressed by the slicer.
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions and help!
