That a
Is all it is
Maybe a network problem.
Is the port 7125 opened on your router ?
Thank You:
The small display on the SOVOL SV08 is Booting for ever message!!!
Even my Fix does not fix it, see below video for this My Forever Booting fix.
No Internet access ONLY PUTTY SSH seems to logon via LAN cable.
Just fitted a new purchased control board today 12 October 2024 and this works
This Fix did not fix it, but it has worked before:-
Sorry, I can’t help you, I don’t own such a machine.
Have you send a mail at info@sovol3d.com ?
This is the simple, yet unlikely to fix anything solution: Check to make sure that your firewall allows access to your printer.
However, this problem, and solution, looks to be exactly what you are experiencing:
https://www.reddit.com/r/klippers/comments/1df9da0/i_cant_connect_to_moonraker/
Read the first post (by user “To0wnn”):
“Had the same issue yesterday, use kiauh to uninstall moonraker. Then update pip and then install moonraker via kiauh again. If you see an error again you know what package is the issue”
And did you buy a new mainboard?
this has nothing to do with whatever firewall or router, since this is a connection from the printer to the printer itself (127.0.0.1 = localhost)
It looks like the moonraker service that will listen on port 7125 is unable to start because of an error and therefore the interface cannot connect to it. This could be a hardware issue but more likely this is a software issue.
Since Sovol is not running mainline klipper I do not advice to update or install any other version than the stock one from the updated firmware on github.
I see this is confirmed by the topic starter himself in Do not try to install Octoeverywhere Bricks control board: FIXED
I had to Purchase a new control board, now no WiFi, (same settings as before that worked), so have to use LAN
Well, no. I believe that I mentioned that about the first portion of my reply. It was included for completeness, with the caveat that it probably wasn’t going to help in this case. But, you never know who’s going to come along next with a similar problem.
Yeah, using the official Sovol version probably would be the way to go… For whatever reason, I didn’t feel the need to mention that.
So I’m confused. What was wrong with the original board? (you mentioned removing a resistor, what’s that all about?) And if it was defective, why wouldn’t Sovol replace it under warranty? And why wouldn’t WiFi work with the new board? Inquiring minds want to know.
I’m pleased to see that the SV08 mainboard is only $80, but still.
As for me, since I bought the SV08 with the intent to install multiple toolchangers, I will probably replace my board with a Duet 2 that I have kicking around. If the Duet 2 isn’t capable, I have a Duet 3 as well. But it was intended for the HevORT that I am building.
I did buy a BigTreeTech Octopus Max EZ, along with everything necessary to run a toolhead off of CanBUS, for the Flying Bear that I bought. But I gave the FB along with the BigTreeTech parts to my son.
I am on a very small budget so only $80 is a lot for me
BTT allows full Klipper, SOVOL do NOT!!
Old board said Booting “for ever”, and nothing else, Firmware did not fix it.
No Internet access expect via PUTTY SSH, where I do not have a clue what to do.
New board no WiFi; old broad had WiFi before it bust, so using LAN
Well, the BigTreeTech setup cost me $230. So $80 ain’t that bad.
And while I won’t drop names, one of my other printers sets the price for their board at $200. I’ll install a Duet for that price. So it could be worse…
And I’m retired, so I have to watch my nickels these days too. I still do the odd engineering job, but just for friends. Today it’s a Fadal CNC 88 that has a wonky keyboard (like all of the rest of them from the 90’s it appears).
Bigtree Tech told me. when I asked them, this is the best option from them
BIGTREETECH Manta M4P/M8P/M5P Control Board running Klipper with CB1/CB2/CM4
And ONLY ÂŁ34.64 GBP on Sale
I would worry about how well it would physically fit and having to set up and run Klipper on it
after years of using Marlin but I think this board needs more like CB1
This may help
