Sovol SV06 power outage?

Hello all,

I bought a Sovol SV06 on Facebook market and I cleaned it up. Re greased the rails and rods. Checked all the screws and plugs to make sure all was working properly. I took apart the Hotend and made sure that the nozzle and heat end works. I set the z off-set and leveled the bed. all works fine and looks great. I also re flashed the firmware.

But after I sliced a benchy file and put in the newly formated sd card, I kept getting a Power Outage/ printer haulted/ please reset prompt. I looked online and did all that was recommended like turning it off and hitting resume printing but it happened again. I unplugged it and rechecked all the plugs and wiring. Still keep getting the same prompt.

The nozzle heats up, I pushed filament thru and it feeds thru fine. The bed heats up and reaches temp. so all the heat elements are working. I saw something about adding a Line of Gcode to sliced file, but i dont know how to do that. Any suggestions.

I really like Sovol and Own an SV01 and an SV07 plus but I just really want to get this working. I love tinkering with 3D printers and buying older printers and getting them working again. so can anyone one help?

It looks like it thinks there was a power outage…
Do you get a prompt that says Resume Print & Stop Print..??
If so, click on Stop Print.

yes, I have done that. But it happens every time I try to print anything. I haven’t printed anything with it yet. It heats up and says its about to start print and then stops and I get the prompt. it wont go past the heating up bed and nozzle then moves to start print and then stops. I shut it off, restart. It asks if I want to continue print. I press yes, same prompt. I say no then try a new print, same prompt. I tried fixing model in Bambu, Orca, Cura, Creality slicer. nothing but Power Outage, Printer haulted, Please reset. Repeat, start print, Power outage, restart, repeat.

This isn’t my first printer. I have Ender 3 , ender 3 pros, ender 3 s1, ender 3v 3 se, K1max, a1, a1 mini, neptune 3 pro, plus and max. sovol SV0l, SV07 plus. I own may printers. Usaually a firmware update or older version firmware fixes things. I bad plug or thermister, a bad motherboard but all seems fine. Just can’t figure this out.

It might sound obvious, but have you checked the power setting…115v-230v.
Also, can you get to the Main Screen at all..??
If you can, go into Configuration/Advanced Settings/Initialize EEPROM… then Configuration/Restore Defaults.

yes, ive done all that. nothing.

My only thought is to re-flash Marlin again.

Have you tried starting the printer with the SD Card removed…maybe it’s something in your code. Are you using Cura or Orca Slicer..??

is that not the updated firmware? if not where do i get that marlin flash? I have used Bambu, Creality, Cura, Orca slicers. ill try the sd card thing now. ill let u know how that works.

Each slicer has it’s own Start Gcode, the SV06 came with Cura…so stay with that for now until it’s fixed.

You can find the firmware here, with & without filament sensor:

ok but, is that firmware on sovol.com the firmware for marlin?

The link above is for Marlin, Sovol didn’t start using Klipper until the SV07.
The 1st round of SV06’s came without a filament sensor..mine has a custom install..about 3-6 months later, Sovol added a filament sensor to the SV06. That is why there are 2 different firmware versions.

thank you so much, I googled marling firmware for the SV06 and downloaded it from github and ,then i was able to disable power outage. guess what. its printing. THANKS SO MUCH! I got it for $40 dollars. what a steal!
