Looking for some ideas as to the problem and correction.
My SV06 Plus works very well with the exception being, the print nozzle hits any taller print (about 6 inches or taller, Z axis) and tends to knock it loose from the print bed. Your ideas for correcting this are very welcome.
Also I’m curious with this. I use Cura. When loading an stl project (say from Thingaverse) the Cura settings are imported too. I’ve found at times this can lead to problems with a quality print.
Is there anyway to load a project but keep the Cura settings I’ve found work best with my SV06Plus and not have the settings that come with the downloaded project? I should know this but must admit that I do not.
That’s something I’ve already checked. Last month I discovered the two bolts holding the heater assembly into the printer head had come completely loose. Only the silicon nozzle boot kept them from falling completely out.
Can show a pic of the models your having issues with & the orientation you printed them..??
For Cura, all you have to do it set the defaults after each print.
Anything with with the rotation arrow is a change you made, all you have to do is click that for each change (RED) or click the one next to the profile on the top (BLUE).
Yes, the printer is about a year and a half old but much to my shame I think I know why this one was knocked off the build plate. I’ve now realized the project was not truly vertical but had a slight lean built into it, just a slight bump with the nozzle would have been enough to knock it loose because I printed with a skirt when a raft would have been a better choice
Also, thanks for the Cura information. I’ll definitely check that out!
Thanks to the both of you!
When prints are more than 3 times as tall as they are wide don’t be afraid to add manual supports on the sides. Supports on vertical surfaces come off easy.
