So almost every other print I do fails due to bed adhesion if the print is longer than an hour.
I’ve tried brims, rafts, dropping the Z-offset to smash filament in, increasing first layer flow, 65C bed with PLA, 100C bed with ABS, 0 gap extra large brims, and of course cleaning the bed and glue stick. First layers look OK, they just don’t hold.
I’ve wasted a ton of filament due to this. Anyone else having these kind of issues?
Happy to provide one, but of what? A detached string mess is what I get. As for first layer, the usual bumby, properly filled (except when I over extruded on purpose) bottom layer.
Check your extruder temperatures. A number of us have found the thermocouple on the Max is reading high and the extruder is actually 15° or 20° cooler than reported by Klipper. I made extensive measurements, reported the issue both here and to Sovol direct but after an initial e-mail requesting more info I have not heard back and they have not made any corrections that I’m aware of.
I found a post about Bamboo printers and tall parts, and have switched my infill style and slow the print down halfway up, and so far, two successful prints. It’s possible the print head isn’t moving up enough to not scrape the part as it gets taller and the center of gravity raises. That would explain why not using a grid (which crosses itself), and slowing down helps.
