Next core XY?

Now that Sovol has both a Voron V2.4 and a V0.2 derived printer, is a Trident with a 300x300 bed in the works?

Haven’t seen anything official but the profile directory for Sovol Zero available from SOVOL ZERO | Sovol 3D Printer Wiki makes the mistake of including also the .git directory which exposes the full change history even for deleted files. One of the afterwards manually deleted files mentions a model named SV08 MAX for which the profile files were added on 18th February this year. Those files define a build plate size of 500x500.

On a Thursday night Sovol live stream a few weeks ago that mostly focused on the launch of the Zero, Sovol mentioned that the Zero was co-developed along with a soon to be released 500 mm coreXY machine that I’m guessing will have the Eddy probe like the Zero, and hopefully a bed that doesn’t warp when heated like the bed on the SV08. I’ll be happy with the SV08 once Sovol releases the promised Eddy upgrade for it and I do whatever I need to do to fix the warping bed, but a 500 mm class coreXY with all the bells & whistles would be incredible. Honestly, the SV08 is large enough to print just about anything I want to print, but I might need the new 500 mm printer… just because! If I could put the Bondtech INDX on it, I could stop having fever dreams about a 500 mm RatRig V-Core 4 IDEX.

Edit To Add: I cross posted with Vergo, so I guess the live stream and the file history provide independent confirmation. I didn’t know about the software trail. Thanks Vergo.

Hello,
I’ve heard that the next printer will be the SV08 MAX
