I thought the last Orca update included a .6, but I lost all my settings for the ACE when I added the Zero..so now I have .4 only unless I add them or wait for an update.
I admit I didnāt pay much attention to cleaning filament at first, but I mostly buy ZIRO Filament & it comes with a package of cleaning filament with every spoolā¦so I have a lot of it.
Anyway, heat creep:
Itās is hard to recover from without having to replace the heatbreak.
It acts like a clogged nozzle & usually will start giving you problems a few hours into a printā¦from a cold printer. If youāve already been printing, you pretty much know right away.
Yeah heat creep is not my issue.
..and why do you say that..??
Well I read the issue and thats not what Im experiencing.
Well, then if you donāt think itās heat creepā¦has to be an extrusion issueā¦JMO
Yeah thats what i have been trying to figure out. I already replaced the extruder assymb.
Honestly, to me it still looks like heat creep..more now since you replaced the extruder.
Have you replaced the hotend..??
I didnt replace the extruder because of clogging. All of my previous issues was because the lower wheel was loose on the extruder assymb. These issues started after I tightened the wheel yesterday.
What were the issues before you tightened the wheel..??
They should have been much worse.
Can you post all of the problems you are having..??
It seems like weāre just going round & round..
You explain an issue, I try to answer, then a new issue appears.
I have already posted all the issues and pictures of the failed prints from yesterday
Issues before have been broken heating elements on nozzle assym. Nozzles braking thru the side wall of the threads into the hole for the temp probe and ruining the nozzle assym. Small zigzags in walls every other print. Some weeks I get great results then all of a sudden Im getting noting but failed prints. Thats why I replaced the entire unit. Then recently noticed it was wobbly and made this thread. I fixed the wobble by tighting the bottom wheel and have now had all the problems I mentioned in the comments above along with the pictures. I have had failures where the print sticks to the nozzle and created a massive ball of melted filament around the nozzle. I think you remember that one. Just to many problems to mention previous to this. And I have only had it 4 months.
Is the wheel too tight, does it run smooth on the rail..??
Anyone else reading this thread is welcome to chime inā¦
yeah moves smoothly and dosnt feel to tight
Just switched back to the .4mm nozzle gonna see what I can do.
Did you try printing with the original configuration and the 0.4 nozzle when you received the printer?
4 months ago yeah. Have made small changes here and there to offset the wobbly assymb I didnt realize I had
Your machine is still under warrantee. Have you contacted Sovol support concerning the issues you are having?
If they canāt sort it out Iād devise a systematic plan to ātuneā your machine. The try this, try that method often works BUT in your case I feel the best route is to start with the basics and verify each component is functioning correctly.
- go over every screw on the printer and tighten them. Donāt forget the grub screws in the belt sprockets and extruder feed roller.
- remove the belts and Z axis screws. Verify they all 3 axis move smoothly over their entire range AND donāt allow any movement in the other 5 axis (especially pitch, roll and yaw). Reinstall belts and screws.
- Clean the extruder rollers and inspect the the filament path (in the extruder body and the heatbreak) for stuck bits of filament.
- locate an unmodified printer.cfg from Sovol and upload into the printer.
- Measure rotation distance. If it is off by more than 5% stop and figure out why. If itās close adjust it.
- load up some PLA and print the presliced benchy (on the Wiki if you donāt have it)
That covers the basic motion systems. Next step is sorting out slicer settings if needed.
Yeah I was afraid of this. At this point its not worth doing any of that. I just added everything up and I have spent over $350 us on parts and filament so far. I could have bought another ace for that much. Im really not interested in warranty as they havent warrantied anything so far. Before every part I replaced I reached out to sovol first and never got anything warrantied. If I couldnt get a refund I would rather just move on and toss it, then save up for something more reliable. I really appreciate the help figuring out if this is worth it or not.
