HOST temperature 90.7 above maximum temperature of 90.0

Greetings,

Encountering the following error when printing. Any ideas?

I have replaced the fun on the bottom of the SV08 but still encountering this message when printing. Is there a way to test and confirm that the bottom fan works should that be the case.

Klipper reports: SHUTDOWN

HOST temperature 90.7 above maximum temperature of 90.0.
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the
"FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.
Printer is shutdown

If you replaced the fan, the only thing to do is remove the bottom & start the printer.
Double check your wiring, plug & the heat sink for issues.

Have you added any software to your machine?

I’ve not seen anyone else with overheating hosts on any of Sovol’s H616 boards.

You could stick a heat sink on your H616 but I still wonder WHY yours runs hot.

I haven’t added any software recently. It was working fine at least for a month or so since the last software update.

At what point should this fan start running?

The motherboard fan should run all the time…so as soon as you turn on the printer.

Is it possible that this pin is bad? I tried a 4010 fan that I have in stock but that isn’t running neither. I ordered the one @cardoc shared. Arrives tomorrow.

Yes it is possible the pin is bad.

The heatsink is in addition to the main fan not a replacement for.

Is the stock motherboard fan 5V or 24V? The fan you tested was the same?

5V won’t spin a 24V fan

They are both 24V. Replacing the Noctua.

Also I didn’t consider the included fan is probably 5V. You may have to sacrifice a USB cable and get 5V from there.

I found this if it helps.

First mod on my SV08: Noctua fan for the controller bay
