Hi,

Maybe a reset factory of your printer

ok will do that and see what happens wondered if anyone else had seen this issue…

Check that the hotend it straight & not bent..the nozzle.
Also check that the bed sensor screws & nozzle are tight & nothing is loose.

ok will do and does anyone know how to factory reset the Sv08 as google lies to me and it wont do a firmware upgrade as im on the latest version…

The axis 0 point is reset every time you home an axis. Doing a “home all” on the touchscreen should solve your stated problem.

The real issue is why is your printer loosing steps?

The software has no way of knowing where the nozzle is. It simply counts the steps sent and ASSUMES the motor turned the specified amount, the belt sprocket didn’t slip on the shaft and the belt didn’t skip a tooth. Your printer apparently is not moving correctly.

Any unusual sounds as the print head moves?

No strange noises at all. When homing its just shifted right. But its been printing fine. Its quite strange. I checked all belts and everything looks great nothing loose .

It has happened before and it corrected itself. Very strange indeed.

Is the 0 access point hard coded. Someone suggest a factory reset but i see no way of doing it other than replacing emmc card

No. That is why you have to “home” before you move. Turn off your printer and move the printhead by hand. Any binding as you move?

FYI On a core XY printer, for the zero to shift straight left or right BOTH motors have to loose the same number of steps. One motor would shift the zero on a 45° angle.

no binding at all.

very strange i noticed when doing pid tuning it moves to the correct place in the middle of the bed… super strange indeed.

This is familiar, I’m pretty sure there is 1 other thread on the forum where a user had the same issue. It also got solved.
I would suggest looking through the SV08 forum & see if you can track it down. I will try to find it tomorrow also.

Thank you, I have searched and can find nothing on the issue…

but i may be using the wrong key words.

I remember what it was now…maybe @cardoc does also.
It was a user where the print was too far either right or left & there was a Klipper bed size that had to be adjusted. This allowed the user to print in the full bed area.
It might have been a SV07 issue, but the fix should be the same.

what i find strange is i didnt change it… lol

mind you i have several printers i wonder if it may have been Orca that changed it in error.

so after some digging it seems the home all is setting the following location

X191 Y165 Z10 this is clearly wrong.

but if i use G0 0,0,10 it makes no noise and goes there with no problem.

but im not sure where it sets the middle of the build plate it looks like it does some math and gets it wrong could my Sv08 suddenly forget math

found that 191 in the homing override set it back to what it should be lets see what happens

yay it worked now lets test z offset

yes its fixed i love this printer
