after 2 hours of printing with my 2 day old SV08 the fun stopped. I can not load any new filament anymore…
I have the same issue, brand new, received the printer 3 days ago, all setup, unable to print, looks ike the filament could not be fed into the print head, extruder motor in motion when load or unload, but no extrusion, when start print, the tool/print head moved to start, temp ok, but cancels printing itself after that. Waiting for tech support to advise.
I had issues loading the first time, remove the tubing from the extruder, pull 6 inches of filament out and while holding the gear open push the filament into the nozzle while rotating the filament. The post that was printing, remove the filament and with the head heated run the cleaning tool through
I’m having the same issue I think. Filament does not feed into the extruder. Tried taking it apart, didn’t help. I reached out to Sovol support, hope to hear something back. If I find anything or hear anything from Sovol I’ll post it here.
I solved the problem by sharpening the lead end of the filament “like a pencil”. When I do that it will load effortlessly, with a soft push in the beginning.
Using a pair of pliers to create an angled cut at about 45 degrees will also work, and takes less time.
That, did not work by me. I have to cut from different sides. Most easy is when you reuse an old rol. After unloading the en of the filament has already a fine point (don’t cut this off, its a fin starter)
I don’t know what is happening with your extruder but I don’t have any problems loading filiment, I just grab the side cutter that came with the printer and cut the filiment ata 45% angle and I just feed the filiment upto the extruder and press load in the screen,. The extruder bulls the filiment in and dodn to the nozzle. I never had any issues. Chesk the gear pin on the extruder it mite have mover it onesie?
I’ve tried 45° cuts, I’ve sharpened the end, tried it cut blunt, even tried a piece that had melted and been pulled into a long, fine, tapered point, to no avail. I’m going to try changing the nozzle, I initially had a clog that required me to remove the nozzle to clear it. I’m thinking maybe I bent the long feeder tube somehow during the removal/cleaning/re-install process and it doesn’t quite line up. Some people have said that cleared up their issues. I’m also considering trying to feed some filament up from the bottom after I remove the nozzle, maybe that will realign stuff. Probably going to order some new nozzles anyways, my machine shipped with the original nozzles.
Same issue here, cutting at 45° only works a measley percentage of the time. This is beyond aggravating as there’s no way this wasn’t noticed prior to shipping as the 45° tip is mentioned in the manual. Will report back if sharpening it all around works.
The printer comes with an extruder path clearing tool. The only time I’ve ever had trouble loading is if I either:
- Did not completely hold the clamp open while inserting
- Filament was stuck due to the front part fan running while trying to extrude (for this, turn off the fan and use the larger heat break clearing tool from the top)
- nozzle isn’t hot enough
- extruder clamping screw not tight enough
But, also keep in mind, there are filaments that I’ve NEVER had an issue with and filaments I ALWAYS have an issue with.
