Hi Y’all. I’m new to 3d printing and have had my SV06 ACE for about 2.5 weeks now. I’ve been really loving it and am so appreciative for all the support and resources the community has provided. It’s been a really fun experience… until the past few days.
I started hearing a strange noise coming from the control box fan, and upon investigating discovered that the fan along with the casing appear to have been delivered damaged. Sovol support confirmed the fan was making abnormal noises and agreed to ship me a replacement.
Everything seemed to be fine, until I started receiving the following error message every time I try to print this morning:
Since your case fan has issues, then yes…it could be overheating.
My case fan was damaged also, it wasn’t mounted…it fell out when I opened the door.
The mounts were broken, I was able to mount it…but it was rigged.
When Sovol sent me parts for another issue, I asked for a new case & they sent it.
I would just wait & not use the printer until you get your replacement…JMO
But, if you really feel the need to use it…you could open the case & use a desktop fan to blow air over the motherboard…but like I posted above…just wait
I’m having a pretty identical situation. I’ve had the printer running fine for the last few weeks, but I am suddenly getting over temp issues on the y-axis stepper driver. Also my case fan will typically rattle for the first few minutes of operation and then run smoothly.
I ordered a replacement fan off of ebay last week, but I’ve now emailed Sovol since the printer is not able to get through a print anymore.
Update on my end: I received and installed the fan that @Lion recommended on my machine (thanks again for that!). It seems to have done the trick for now. I successfully completed a 8 hour print today, so it appears that the error was perhaps associated with the overheating MB box.
I want to thank you guys. I have been dealing with this issue on my SV06 ACE for over a month with random failures due to overheating. Luckily I had some standard 4010 fans on hand from a past printer…switched out mine and the print that failed today printed with no problem and my next print is going now just fine so far. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
