Error "Retries aborting: Probed points range is increasing. Possibly Z motor numbering is wrong"

I’m getting this error while trying to run the Quad Gantry Levelling. Nothing has physically changed with the Z motors.

I’ve also started getting the errors “No trigger on probe after full movement” and “Probe triggered prior to movement”

I wonder if there is something wrong with my bed sensor.

Home your printer (if it will) and paste this into the console in fluidd/mainsail:

PROBE_ACCURACY SAMPLES=20 SAMPLE_RETRACT_DIST=2.0

If it won’t home post again and I’ll walk you through setting a “trusted” Z height.

I homed it. Work fine. entered the code and got results back.

probe accuracy results: maximum 5.161750, minimum 5.053000, range 0.108750, average 5.080750, median 5.081125, standard deviation 0.022087

then tried to QGL but I got this message again

Retries aborting: Probed points range is increasing. Possibly Z motor numbering is wrong.

Acceptable but barely.

Run it x4 more times while watching CLOSELY each corner of the gantry. All look the same?

Does QGL always fail at the same corner?

So you want me to run the probe at each of the 4 corners? or you want me to run QGL 4 times?

Sorry I wasn’t clear

I intended you run the probe accuracy test in the middle of the bed watching for unsmooth motion at one corner at a time.

I guess you could put the nozzle near each corner then test and see if the range is wider in one corner. That should find if any are sticking/binding.

Okay, I ran the tests on each corner and found that the front right corner was experiencing ranges up to 0.2mm so I looked at the Z3 belt and realized it was very loose.

Took it apart and found a broken piece. So now I have to contact customer service to get a replacement part.

Do you or a friend have a working 3d printer? Post a picture of the broken part and I’ll locate it in the CAD model and send you an STL.

I have a couple of 3D printers. Looks like the part is too small for an FDM but I might be able to use my resin printer with some ABS resin.

They call it a belt fixing clip in the wiki under Z-AXIS belt replacement and adjustment

Here you go. Don’t know what format your resin slicer likes so there are several.
SV08 Z belt clip.zip (343.5 KB)

Thank you for all your help. I’ll let you know if this works or not

Okay so printed the new part on the resin printer and it works great, But

Now I get the error message.

“horizontal_move_z can’t be less than probe’s z_offset”

Errors when you home or during QGL?

This was happening when I tried to run calibrate zoffset. I thought to check the zoffset in printer.cfg and found that it was at 5.1mm, so I changed it to 4.9, then ran calibrate zoffset, and this time it worked.

Seems to be working fine now. So fingers crossed I can get some printing done
