Does anyone have a good Orca Slicer profile for the SV08 and Elegoo RAPID PETG?

Does anyone have a good Orca Slicer profile for the SV08 and Elegoo RAPID PETG?

Mine is ok but I get a lot of stringing. I have tried tuning and calibrating but it strings more than I would like still. The filament had been dried already.

Hello,

Have you tried increasing the retraction?

Yes. I tried Elegoo’s suggestion of 0.8 but after an Orca retraction test it seemed like the default 0.5 would be better. But I still experience more stringing than I would expect. If you use this filament and do t experience this stringing on an sv08 can you share your profile?

Sorry, I don’t have the SV08 or that filament.
But generally, stringing and retraction are often related.

Do you use “hop on retract”

Have you tried printing a little colder…try printing at the lowest temp listed on the spool.

OFF TOPIC

IMHO “rapid” filaments are to be avoided. They have changed the formulation to optimize for lower viscosity at print temperature by either adding something or reducing the amount of some other beneficial additive.

On rare occasion the formulation change does result in improvements across the board. In MOST cases, however, they have to sacrifice some property to achieve the result. So stringiness. layer adhesion, bending strength, surface quality, impact strength, ETC become secondary considerations and you get a lousy filament that prints faster.

Elegoo knows more about formulating filament than I do, Perhaps they found a magic formula…

It’s already printing at a average or even cooler temp then I would print PETG on on let’s say a Bambu etc.

A temp tower shows this temp as optimal also. Granted there was more stringing at a higher temp as expected, so I know what you mean.
