I have tried just about everything and nothing has worked so far. I keep getting rippling or pillowing on my prints. Every time i use a filament and i create a profile then i calibrate for the specific filament. Lately i have been having a host of problems with the print. Lets just say none of my prints end up “aceptable”. The fillets print good one day then the next print i have to stop mid way because the fillets behave like a rubber band. Please see images of partial prints. If anyone has any advise on how to finally get a decent print i would appreciate it. I am only printing with PETG at the moment.
Have you added a spacer to prevent the shaft in the extruder gear from shifting? If not a quick forum search will point you to the fix.
I print mostly PETG. I find WIDE variations in settings from brand to brand and even color to color. I’ve been struggling with a couple spools of transparent… The crap prints a perfect “retraction test” every time but every actual model ends up in a ball of cotton candy.
Both prints above look over extruded. I’d also recommend changing your infill settings to force small cross sections to print solid.

Not really. I usually follow these steps from Factorian https://youtu.be/gVU5If1VsAM. Not sure where the issue is. I saw a post talking about issues with the Eddy sensor which got to the point of me buying the Eddy Duo but not yet received. All is stock. Back to your instructions, am i runing the coarse or the YOLO? If the coarse first pass am i keeping the 3 vertical or 3 horizontals?
I ran the YOLO previously and felt 0 was best leaving me at 0.98 global flow rate and that is what i have been using. Given the amount of exesive problems with the warping and uneven printing i am thinking of a graphite bed if someone makes them for the Max.
I tend to see that effect on the first layer or two. That’s the only thing I’ve not been able to figure out, as yet. It’s not irked me enough to actually spend too much time on it, though. It strikes me as more a possible bed adhesion issue than anything. Filament brand doesn’t appear to be a factor.
Even after new Flow cal, issues remain persistent. The rippling starts on layer 3 as i see nothing strange up to layer 3. I have 7 solid layers on my part and still some print thru all the way to layer 7 which is much better this time around.
Two things. One make sure your nozzle is square with the gantry. Look for the washer trick online. If the nozzle is tilted like mine came from the factory then it will look like that. Two in the config set your Z offset there. Joel has a video on how to do it. He chased the same problems. Also check your extruder gears. Clean and regrease them. And just a tip make sure the eddy sensor is tight and not angled. It only has one screw holding it in.
For some reason it was printing fine, then the following prints, even after many calibrations it come out with multiple defects. I have tried other filaments and while better, it still shows the faults. Not sure if my settings are at fault but i will look into it. Regarding the z offset, i keep having to change it every couple of days. The eddy is getting a replacement for the Eddy Duo. Not sure if it will solve my problem after installing Mainline Klipper but i am trying everything.
