I have a bl touch, auto bed leveling. I have installed the hardware on my sv 01. The problem I am having is that I am using prusa for my slicer. The firmware here supports cura. I have tried downloading to prusa, but am having issues. Can anyone help. I will need step by step, as I am not young, and not very computer literate. Any help would be appreciated.
First we have to establish a serial connection to the printer.
There is a USB <> Serial converter on the printer motherboard that requires a driver be installed on the PC
What OS are you running on the PC that will be used to flash the firmware?
Windows 7 home premium. Very old
Plug the USB cable into both the PC and the printer. Power the printer on then on the PC open [device manager] (Google it if you need to). Scroll down to [Ports] and expand the line;
If the driver is working it will look something like above. If not look for yellow triangles and try updating those drivers.
Once you have a working serial port, and you know what port number fire up Prusa Slicer.
Point it at the correct file and port and Flash!
Ok. Thank you. I will try it tomorrow as I have been trying different things for about 5 hours today and have become quite frustrated. I thank you so very much. I will let you know tomorrow how it goes.
