Best settings for prints

Does anyone have a favorite list of OrcaSlicer settings for printers (quality, speed, strength, etc.).

I had settings I copied from a Bambu file that worked great, until I changed my nozzle. I did a calibration print that looked great, but when I try to reprint a file I’ve done a number of times it doesn’t stick to the bed anymore and my prints fail.

Have your cleaned your plate..??
Dawn & warm water will remove the oils from your fingers.

Also: make sure that you updated the nozzle settings in the slicer if you changed the diameter of the nozzle (0.4 to 0.6 for example).

I’ve use alcohol (I saw on a GoGer video). But I can try soap and water!

Both nozzles were 0.4

And nothing else in my settings should have changed since I didn’t print between replacements.

Are the nozzles the same brand?

Are they the same length?

I used to use IPA only also for about 6 months when I first started printing.
I still use it after I wash the plate if I’m printing right away…to make sure I dried the plate completely. I also use it between washings.

No, actually. The first nozzle was direct from Sovol. The new one (dare I say) was from Amazon - but from the Sovol store - and said it was compatible with the SV07 Plus.

I don’t talk about compatibility.

The point is when the nozzle is not exactly the same you probably have to recalibrate totally your printer.

I don’t know how the SV07 sets the Z-Offset, so you will either have to reset it or do the leveling calibrations.
This must be done whenever the nozzle is replaced.

Make sure the replacement nozzle is tight. Check it at printing temperature.

Run the “paper test” to adjust the Z offset. Don’t be afraid to “baby step” as the first layer goes down.

Also I finally got over the notion that glue was a “crutch” used by barbarians who couldn’t be bothered to “correctly” tune their printer. I use it for every print these days.
