Bed heater stops during a print on a SV06 + klipper upgrae

My SV06 with the Sovol SV06 screen and klipper upgrade stopped funtionning with the following message

Heater heater_bed not heating at expected
rate
See the ‘verify_heater’ section in docs/
Config_Reference.md
for the parameters that control this check.

Once underlying issue is corrected, use
the
“FIRMWARE_RESTART” command to reset the
firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.
Printer is shutdown

What should I do ? Any suggestion is welcome.

You are using a Klipad or another host computer?

Reset your printer, Connect with Mainsail or Fluid from your PC (or from inside Orca). Set the bed to whatever temperature it was at and let it run. A cold draft CAN set this error but that’s rare.

Potential issues are:

  1. Bad bed thermistor
  2. Bad bed heater (broken wire more likely than a burnt out heater)
  3. Mainboard fails to supply heater power
  4. Mainboard doesn’t read thermistor correctly

If the temperature reads Way high or low it is 1 or 4

It the temp is way high, low, or jumps around it is 2 or 3

I am using the Sovol Klipper Touch Screen which replaces the original screen of the SV06.

I have tested another print which ended with the same failure. See on the attached picture the downards spike of the bed temperature which trigerred the stop. It is as if the temperature information was not communicated. Maybe a bed thermistor failure or a plug/cable problem. I will make the test with a permutation of the bed and head temperature sensors.

Thanks for your answer,

Etienne Loute

It looks like you have a bad thermistor.

How old is your printer? If it’s less than a year email Sovol.

The most likely spot for a broken wire is where the cable goes into the bed strain relief.
