Will not recognize SD card files I add and USB port

I got the printer set up yesterday, did the test print of the boat, results were ok but I have not gotten into adjusting speed and heat settings yet and am leaving that for another tangent later.

I’ve added some files to the SD card, but the printer does not recognize any of them. I’ve placed them into the main directory and into the 3.Model one, still they are being ignored from the printer.

I have tried connecting a USB cable to it to go directly from my Windows 11 laptop computer “has to be that one for now since my cable is so short”, but it’s not detecting the printer so can’t really go around the sd card reader system until I figure that out, if I figure that out.

I have added files from my windows computer and my linux Mint tower/computer, and still, they show up on both systems, reading that card fine, just not the printer.

Hello,
It sounds like motherboard default.

If your print is new, they fix the trouble.

Try just adding them to the SD Card, not in a folder.

Hi,
It seems to me that’s what he did when he said he put his files in the main folder but… who knows.
What makes me think of a motherboard problem is that he also has a USB port trouble.

did you “eject” the sd card before removing it from the computer ? this is the main cause for missing files on SD cards

I got it figured out, totally new to this, apparently gcode has to be generated and it has to be done with correct software, not the thing they gave you on the sdcard to work with.

Now, have to figure out how to fix the corners bulging when printing a new test piece, a simple cube.
