I’m trying to print using Polymaker’s PolyTerra Marble White PLA but I’m having some serious issues with my SV06 ACE. It appeared to clog my 0.4 mm nozzle, so I went up to a 0.6 mm and a 0.8 mm nozzle, but I have had failed prints with both the 0.6 and 0.8. I don’t think they’re clogging, as once the print stops I can easily run new filament through the head and nozzle. But every single time, it will print a few layers and then stop, and keep doing the movements in open air.
I tried raising the temperature of the nozzle from 220° C to 230 °C (keeping the standard settings otherwise) and still the same issue occurs. Has anyone been able to print anything with this filament or something like it? Do I need to drastically change my settings for PLA with additives? My printer has been working fine otherwise, it’s just this filament is a disaster.
Sounds like you have tried the correct things; usually raising temperature 5 - 10 degrees works for “difficult” filaments (at least for PLA). Switching to a different nozzle size shouldn’t be required.
How does the filament look if you set the temperature and manually extrude “in the air”? Does it curl up nicely on the build plate? Does it look nice and smooth?
I got rid of the mod, and was able to print a benchy with a 0.8 mm nozzle in regular PLA and the marble white PLA.
I have gone back to a 0.6 mm nozzle, fingers crossed it doesn’t clog and I can get nice prints out of it.
