SV08 saved_variable.cfg blank and cannot save new file

After updating to the latest firmware version my printer worked well for several days. Then I started getting errors. Now the printer will not even boot fully.

I know at least one issue but cannot solve it - the saved_variables.cfg was wiped (no idea how). I have a backup and have tried to copy it in to the existing file but every time I try to save it says it cannot be uploaded. If I save the blank file it reports successfully saving it.

I have tried creating a new version of the file with a slightly different name but the same thing happens - if I enter any text it will not upload.

In the machine\config file panel in the mainsail console reported only 0.1kb of available space (with 6.8gb total and 6.6gb used!). I have deleted lots of old G-code files and an unnecessary copy of another printer.cfg file and this freed up space but the problem continues

I don’t understand why I cannot add a few lines of code in to a config file.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

If upload fails, it may be a matter of user not having sufficient permissions to write to target file. What ought to help in that case is transfering the file as by scp (as appropriate user, or even as root), or secure shell to printer, open the target file with an editor - I think pico is preinstalled, and vi provided by a toolset, but other editors can be installed easily, avoid vi if you don’t know how to use it - then copy and paste the file contents into the editor and save it.
