Sv08 nozzle, take the max hot end kit, or other way for sv08 to take mk8 nozzles?

I’d love to see this upgrade (found here → Sovol SV08 MAX Hotend Kit | 0.4mm Hardened Steel Nozzle + 400°C Sensor, and pictured below) for the sv08 (not max), or does anyone know if this upgrade for the sv08 max will work on the sv08 too?

The reason being that I would really, like to use mk8 nozzles on the sv08. There are just so many more nozzle options with the mk8 than with the proprietary nozzles that the sv08 comes with or the ones that are in the hardened steel upgrade kit. Not to mention the much less waste with the mk8 set up. So, rather than throwing out the whole heater block just because the nozzle wore out you can simply replace just the nozzle.

I was literally about to buy an sv08 with the hardened steel nozzle upgrade (I had it in my cart and everything) because I thought the hardened steel nozzle upgrade would allow me to thread a standard volcano nozzle in it, but then after more research I saw that won’t work. So, the nozzle set up on the sv08 was the only thing that stopped me from buying it.

But if I was able to install the upgrade linked above for the sv08 max on the sv08 and allow the sv08 to use standard nozzles then I would definitely buy the sv08.

Or, maybe someone else has a different solution?

I want to use volcano nozzles or mk8 nozzles (preferably mk8) So no, Micro-Swiss is not a solution for me. Maybe someone knows of some way I can do that with the sv08 that would cost around 30-40 USD?

I would love to hear peoples’ solutions.

This looks to take Bambu style nozzles. File a coupple mm off the end to make it flat and Mk8 should fit.

Oh, that’s interesting.
To clarify, do you mean file down the end of the heat block of the bambu hotend clone you linked to so that the mk8 will fit?

That’s an interesting idea.
Have you tried this?

Sort of…

I filed half a mm off a SV07 heat block to use K1 nozzles without issue.

Also the Max kit will fit the SV08 but you’d have to create a bracket to lower your height probe to correct for the longer heat block. NOTE the Max thermistor is a PT1000 and would need to be discarded and use the thermistor from your old heatblock

Thank you for telling me about this it’s given me some good ideas.

Thanks again, I appreciate it.
