I just got some bimetal heatbreaks for the SV04. I disassembled my extruder and tried to remove the existing heatbreak, and it is extremely tight. Is it glued in? It is heated, and I am using pliers to remove it. I was able to push out the tube and it was covered in a hard, black, substance.
The black substance is from the filament melting.
The heatbreak should unscrew, unless there is a set screw.
From these pictures, I don’t see a set screw.
These are indeed the ones i got. To be safe i unscrewed the two screws that were on the block. Still no dice. I might try to clean out the threads with some alcohol (heat off of course).
SOLVED!
There was indeed something locking up the threads. I screwed on the heatsink to the heatbreak in order to make a makeshift handle that wouldn’t slip. It worked a charm!
