Sovol T500 - Comgrow T500

Hi everyone, I am a total newbie to the wonderful world of 3D printing.

I possibly foolishly bought a Comgrow T500 which was non functional.

I have gradually worked through the existing wiring and established that my problem is connected to the main board.

Spending many happy but agonising hours trying to locate the exact problem, however I have decided to replace this control board with a BTT Manta m8p.

I have however stumbled across a really stupid issue where I am stuck. There is existing a wide ribbon cable which connects the main board to the head. I have looked at so many websites trying to find the inputs of this cable, but alas I have not found the information I seek.

I hope that someone on here can give me a pointer in the right direction.

Sorry this has been such a.long post.

Many thanks

Trev

Honestly, I just did a few Google searches…and I couldn’t even find 1 were this has been attempted.

Welcome,
No worries about a long post.

First off have you considered upgrading the toolhead? A SV08 Max toolhead solves ALL the wiring problems with 4 wires. There is a detailed guide on a stealthburner conversion at:

If you want to use the existing toolhead you have some detective work to do.

Adapter board-motherboard cable (1).pdf (533.3 KB)

No info can be found on the T500 umbilical cable. The attached PDF is for a SV06. It does show that 2 groups of 3 wires are paralleled to run the heater.

Do you have a multimeter (hopefully one with a continuity beeper)?

Take apart the toolhead to access the breakout board. All the pins are labeled just beep every pin to the other end of the umbilical.
