Sovol SV06+ BTT Eddy Duo

Hello! So I have a Sovol SV06+ with the Sovol Klipper Screen and I decided to install the sensor BTT Eddy Duo instead of the Sovol Sensor and we replaced the sensor with a custom mount for the BTT Eddy Duo V1. We mounted and inserted the eddy configuration into printer.cfg and there was a klipper error that it couldn’t import final from typing /usr/lib/python-3.7/typing.py so i builded and installed python 3.8. Same error. I also had to switch out the apt sources to download from archive.debian.org instead of deb.debian.org. I updated klipper, moonraker, mainsail, fluidd and crowsnest. While updating only moonraker didn’t want to update for some reason. It was stuck on 0.8.0-23 dirty version. So how do i get the BTT Eddy Duo sensor working instead of the Sovol Sensor one?

Thanks!

I don’t have an Eddy Duo but my Klipad is running current armbian and mainline klipper.

See

While it’s possible to do without I used a USB>EMMC dongle.

I lose then special settings that only comes with the Sovol Klipper OS (Calibration Level menu which goes up and down aka Tilt Z Calibration)

Mainline kipper has all the functions you mentioned.

Klipper will run all the macros too. NOTE: Power loss recovery is broken on the Sovol fork.

What about the tile Z Calibration? How to do that on mainline klipper? I was reading the bassamantor github sovol sv06 firmware and it said to run the command G34 at some point. After running that it said: Unknown command ‘G34’ That’s why I’m worried. We don’t have all the commands.

The Klippad runs KlipperScreen.

The display menus will be exactly the same once you update.

Fluid and Mainsail from your PC will be the same too.

Once you have the dongle reflashing the Sovol image is easy if you want to go back.

Moonraker won’t update tho. So I’m locked out from some features. What do I do then?

Also forgot to say that even with updating klipper through kiauh it still uses python 3.7

Have you reflashed the EMMC or still trying to patch Sovol’s outdated version of Armbian?

I’m trying to patch sovols armbian. Didn’t flash emmc.

Be careful. if you update to the wrong kernal you’ll brick it.

Thanks, I’ll set the answer to the most logical thing.
