Hey just need help with my sovol sv04 printer because i need to get another firmware on it since its corrupt on the one already. i tried many different firmwares on a micro sd card with a micro sd to full sd adapter. i tried different names of the file as well. it just gets stuck on the loading bar with no progress and never turns to .cur.
Hello Din0saur & welcome to the forum,
the SD-card is the 90% error source for update problem. Here you’ll find best practices for updating the SV04.
Good luck!

When i was updating it and got stuck at no progress on the loading bar i shut it down an took out the micro sd card and now forever stuck at the 0% loading bar even without sd card.
Since your motherboard is bricked (flash interrupted during the process), it is normal for the progress bar to be stuck.
Flash the stock firmware with a suitable SD card and everything will work properly.
Hi again,
are you sure that display software and firmware on your SV04 are matching?

Um actually no since i am trying to use a popular costum firmware and flashed the screen but for some reason it just wont flash the mainboard so im guessing ill just need to get a actual sd card today..
if thats the case thank god since i dont want to get a whole new mainboard thanks for letting me know!
will the kingston 4gb SDHC SD4/GB from ebay work?
8GB is what you want for flashing…even if the file is smaller.
but will the 4gb work?
Hi again,
the 4GByte card should be able to do the job, too.
Ensure that it is formatted properly: FAT32, 4096 sector size, one partition only

thanks for ltetting me know since i just ordered it from somewhere i cant cancel.
Hey thanks for your help i got the firmware installed and its no longer bricked! but i noticed that whenever doing anything like leveling or tramming the extruder goes too far down that it sort of digs into the bed and resses the bed down and leaves marks. Any idea what to do?
Hello,
If I remember correctly, first of all, you need to manually level the bed on this printer.
Read the procedure in the user manual.
It seems to me that this is a false automatic leveling.
Hi again,
that’s why the best practice linked above includes the following note:
”Before updating the firmware: Ensure that you wrote down your current offset data.“
I’d recommend following chapter 2 of the SV04 operation instruction for leveling both nozzles & my leveling procedure for the hotbed.
Running PID-tuning for both nozzles & hotbed is also a good idea after leveling has been done .
Good luck!

Hello there! i fixed the issue it was only because the intire nozzle was messed up and replaced. but i need to unjam the extruder and im opening it up but the one screw the very tiny one right above the hotend just wont unscrew letting it loose! No matter how tiny the alen key is.
Hi again,
usually, the only screws that need to be turned iot adjust nozzle height are nozzle and heat-break.
Heating up the heat-block iot get the filament stuck inside in a liquid state (e.g. 180°C for PLA) should help during unclogging. Ensure to wear gloves iot protect your fingers & to avoid tear on the wires of the heat-block.
Good luck!

What should i do if its stripped the screw…..
