Sovol SV04 IDEX - Extruder 2 Not Leveling Properly Across the Bed

Hello everyone,

I’m currently experiencing an issue with my Sovol SV04 IDEX printer when trying to level both extruders correctly. I hope someone here can provide some insight or suggestions.

The Problem:

  1. I start by setting the Z-offset for Extruder 1 (T0) during bed leveling.
  2. Then, I perform AUX leveling (manual bed leveling) with Extruder 1. After adjusting all five points, the paper has a consistent “scratch” feel across the bed—so far, so good.
  3. Once I finish leveling with Extruder 1, I switch to Extruder 2 (T1).
  4. I manually adjust the Z-offset for Extruder 2 using the top screw.
  5. Here’s where things go wrong:
  • The left side of the bed (points 2 and 5) presses too much into the bed.
  • The right side of the bed (points 1, 3, and 4) feels okay.

Possible Causes?

It seems like Extruder 2 might be tilted—but I’m not sure if that’s the actual issue or how to properly fix it.

Questions:

  • Could it be that Extruder 2 is misaligned or tilted compared to the bed?
  • Is there a way to compensate for this issue without physically adjusting the extruder mount height (which I can’t do)?
  • Would mesh bed leveling or some firmware adjustment help correct this issue?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! If anyone has experienced a similar issue, I’d love to hear how you fixed it.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Pipan & welcome to the forum!
Your right printhead is likely to tilt if the four grub screws in the back holding part are not tight.
This thread contains a solution for your problem.
Good luck!

Thank you for your detailed explanation and suggestions! I carefully checked everything you mentioned and found that the top left roller on the right extruder was too loose. This caused the extruder to tilt to the left side, leading to the uneven leveling issue I was experiencing.

After tightening the roller properly, the extruder is now parallel to the bed, and the issue seems to be resolved!

I really appreciate your help and the time you took to explain the possible causes. Thanks again!
