Hello. brand new user here. assembled the SV04 IDEX and am attempting to level it for the first time.
I have adjusted the gantry to be parallel with the bed (i hope). I want to level the bed now. When i go to AUX Level, i am expecting the 4 ‘corner’ postions to be somewhat uniform. what i see is the 5 and 4 postions have the nozzle right on the edge of the back of the bed plate. and the 2 and 3 positions are a good 4 inches from the front edge. In other words all four seem to be too far back.
also, with a ruler i find the bed plate is about 31.5 cm long/deep. when i AUX Level to the 1 position, the center position, it is 12 cm from the back edge and 19.5 cm from the front edge. That does not seem like the center to me. if the bed is 31.5 long then the center ought to be about 15.5 or so cm from either front or back, right ?
There is no need to fix your SV04:
There is an offset between the touch sensor and the nozzle position. During leveling the sensor measures the relevant corner points - ideally the leveling screw positions & the center of the bed.
thank you for answering, but i am not sure i understand.
even if the nozzle is right on the back edge of the plate ? that can be moved forward ? i would assume that the 1 position is in the center of the bed plate and it is several inches off. just does not seem right. i dont want my prints falling off the edge.
Maybe you missed homing before. Did you follow the adjustment procedure according to the SV04 Operation instruction?
Usually homing happens during nozzle 1 leveling which is done before Aux leveling.
went through the whole leveling process again. started a dual mode xyz cube print job - off the sd card. both extruders seem to have the correct vertical height and are printing. however, horizontal is still off. the left is printing around the center of the bed but the right print is hanging off the edge of the plate and will probably fail.
so my question is, if it looks good vertically, but not horizontally, what do i do to correct this ?
From your problem description it seems that the right print head is not moving properly. Can you move it when using the settings → move menu?
If the right printhead is not moving it at all: This could be a stepper motor problem or a wiring problem or a belt drive problem.
Belt drive: Check belt tension first - it should be same as the left belt drive. If the right printhead can be moved along the X-axis (left to right) manually when stepper motors are powered on then fastening the grub screw of the right drive gear on the rifgth stepper motor shaft should solve the problem.
