Slicer setting?

I have learned a lot in the three months I’ve been using the SV06+, but now have a question that I suspect will come down to a slicer setting after upgrading to Cura 5.7.2. I’ll explain as best I can.

Starting a print I get the expected first line on the left side of the bed as I know I should to insure the extruder is working properly. As the print head moves to the center of the build plate to start the print I get a lighter line of extruded filament running from the first line on the left of the bed, to the point where the print should begin. At times this unexpected line of filament appears to have been laid down in a lower quantity, or even an uniform amount (almost like a dashed line).

I suspect this is an incorrect retraction setting. Any ideas or suggested retraction settings are VERY welcome.

In advance, thank you!

If I’ve read this correctly…your talking about the purge line, then a hair thin line going to the beginning of the print (the 1st layer).
If this is correct, it’s nothing…it’s just filament ooze.

You’ve hit the nail on the head!

I’ve never noticed this ooze before. It makes me wonder if it’s just the filament I was using today and a brand that I have not used before.

Thank you!

Hi,
Have you solved your problem ?

Thanks for the response.

In short, not really.
There are so many possible settings in Cura 5.7.1 that it’s very confusing to newbees such as myself.
What I would hope to find is a pre-populated Cura 5.7.1 that has been set up to work with the Sovol sv06Plus, right out of the box so to speak.

If not, a document showing all of the suggested settings to insure more success with the sv06Plus.

Thanks for your interest. Seems every day a muddle onto another setting, then 5 more gremlins show up.

Basically everything is setup except filament temps, that’s on you.
Like I said in your other post, you will have to do a little tweaking sometimes.

And to set the right temperature for a filament there are plenty of tutorials on the net.
