I have been using my Sv06 for a while but I am disliking the constant SD card swap each time I want to test print something from my computer to my printer and back again. Is this something Klipper can help me with (bluetooth, wifi etc)? Does Klipper help the SV06 work faster? I had heard klipper lets the user dial down on settings but I am unsure of which setting and how this can help the user.
I have also seen this which seems to assist with wifi on these machines :
I will start off by saying that the title of your post “Should I get Klipper” makes me think NO. If you WANT Klipper you CAN make it happen.
Klipper does extend the functionality of your printer. The input shaper functions improve print quality at higher print speeds. It, however, requires considerable dedication to achieve those gains.
Octoprint is simpler and will run on lower power hosts. It is not slam dunk simple to install/configure but IS easier than Klipper.
Do you have an unused laptop laying around? Octoprint will run on anything that will run Linux. Give it a try, there are NO changes to your printer so if you NEED to print and Octoprint is pi**ssing you off yank the USB cable out of your printer and go back to SD card printing.
For most people the phone is a bad choice. Octoprint requires continuous USB connection to the printer. Very few phones will charge while the port is in “host” mode. People hack phones and connect a external charger.
