Replacing Sovol SV04 hot end

I accidentally broke off the original nozzle in the hot end of my SV04 while trying to change the nozzle to a different size. I purchased a new hot end, but the connectors on the old hot end for the heating element and the thermistor that feed into the ribbon cable that goes to the motherboard are held in by some sort of sealant. I am guessing by its appearance that it is some sort of silicone based sealant. How do I safely remove the sealant to replace the hot end connectors and what sealant do I need to reapply in order to prevent vibration from loosening the connectors with further use?

I think you need to loosen the little known (to us newbies) butt screw above the heating block. That releases the hotend and nozzle. If working on extruder #1, it is on the right side of the extruder, left side of hotend for extruder #2.

Yes, finally found that screw that releases the hot end. But the cables at the other end plug into a connection block that was covered with a silicon compound that had to be cut away with an exacto knife,

I had to change out my thermistor as well because it broke. So i unplugged the printer first then proceeded to cut the thermistor wire about 2" from the bulb. I then soldered the new thermistor wires to the 2 wires I cut. I used shrink tubing and that yellow thin electronic tape. It worked and still works. No need for me to access the board to replace the entire wire.

Hope this helps.
