I probably should wait to post about my newest build plate until I’ve tried it with all of my commonly used filaments. So far I’ve only used it with ASA but it works so well I’ve already ordered another for my Zero and one for my K1. With ASA at a bed temp of 80 C adhesion is good, better than the stock textured PEI at 110 C and parts release cleanly after partial cooling. It has a micro texture that gives parts a smooth bottom surface which doesn’t impact the assembly of tightly toleranced parts unlike the stock textured plate. At 100 C adhesion is amazing but parts don’t release easily even after full cooling and I expect repeated use at that temperature or higher may lead to rapid wear and degradation of the plate. I expect it will work excellently for PLA, PETG and TPU although it won’t bother me if it doesn’t as I have other good enough options for those. I’m hopeful it will also be great for PA and PC, filaments I rarely use but might use more if they become easier.
The plate is for the Bambu A1 Mini and here it is unmodified in use on my Zero. I put it on backwards which means a few millimeters of the back edge have cut outs and should not be used. Unfortunately the plate would need an edge trimmed to fit side ways to enable the Zero’s full print bed to be used.
The plate is by Comgrow but curiously I have not seen it on either the Comgrow or Sovol webstores. I found it on Amazon:

@Lion nice job cutting that plate. I cut a plate for my K1 to fit it on my Zero. Fortunately I did not try to key it or even accurately size it but merely did two mostly straight cuts leaving about half an inch extra on the right side and front of the plate. I did it with a jigsaw and the cuts were ugly but the plate works fine because I did not cut it close.

My Comgrow arctic grip build plate also works great with PPA and PETG. For most prints I have been using 70 C for PPA and ASA and 55 for PETG. I so love this setup that I want another Zero or two but fear they won’t be restocked.
Fortunately for I, (though others tend to look on it differently), I have a quirk which usually means I may buy more than one of something I take a liking to. Over the space of several months, I ended up buying six Zero’s. Looking at that other thread, that could be classed as being a wise choice. They are good little printers, & with the addition of a good plate, they’re even better..
I’ve dedicated a couple to ABS, a couple to PETG, & the other two are general whatever filament, currently.
Sovol EU, (don’t know if it’s feasible for you to order one from there?), are showing 23 Zero’s in stock on their website, currently.
I saw that but thought buying used plus a spare new tool head which I just bought would likely work out better.
I thought I’d use my Zero for small precision prints or the occasional ABS parts but once I started using it, I realized that it wasn’t my 2nd specialty printer. It quickly became my primary printer. It’s a solid little printer that prints well with no fuss. It’s enclosed and can print higher temperature materials even without actively heating the build area. It prints ABS-CF so well that it’s my go to material for most structural parts. If I need flexible parts or high impact structural parts I use TPU or foaming TPU-LW. ABS is so easy that I seldom print PLA or PETG anymore.
I like the Zero so much that I bought a second Zero but the first Zero is so reliable that I haven’t even opened the box on the second Zero. I have a couple of spare Zero print heads and hot end assemblies. I should probably double my spare parts. I’m so happy with the little Zero that I hardly look at new printers. The M1D looks very interesting, but I’m more inclined to add INDX to one of my Zero printers for multi-material use. I still have an old Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro that’s a good little bed slinger if the Zero is already in use, and the SV08 for the rare larger projects. The SV08 is also a good candidate for an INDX upgrade.
Even though my Zero has been reliable, instead of more bleeding edge features and ridiculous Rapid PLA+ print speeds that nobody outside of Sovol’s marketing department will ever use, I wish Sovol would make a printer optimized for long term reliability under heavy use. I’d love to go into details but that’s a topic for another thread.
hey we’re both members of the two-Zeros owners club! Its good hardware, terrible market pressures, and while I’m not particularly interested in the M1D either it appears to be a successful and well though strategic play for the company and I respect that.
