Bed Leveling/Z Leveling Wont work on right side

Suddenly my SV04 wont do any leveling on the right side.

If I run the z leveling, the probe deploys, and the extruder lowers till it hits. On the right side, the probe just pops in and out over and over but the extruder never lowers.

If I auto bed level, spot #1 is on that side and does the same thing. Logs state “Error!! STOP called because of BLTouch error - restart with M999”

Seems odd to me as the touch probe is working fine, the machine just wont lower till it touches the bed…..

I have reflashed firmware and all as well, checked connections, both side motors work fine. I am so confused and about to give up on this thing.

Hi @Bjoern

Maybe something for you.

Have a nice day.

Posting a short video in hopes of some help

The only thing I can come up with is a broken wire in the umbilical. When the #1 extruder is on the right end of the gantry the broken ends touch. When the extruder moves the wires move and the ends separate.

Hello bkeegan247,
the error message indicates a CR-touch sensor malfunction. Your video shows that you tried to run the Auto Z-align function.
Adjusting your Z-offset in the Leveling mode screen could help. If not, your CR-Touch sensor might need more attention.

Good luck!

Appreciate the help! Unfortunately z offset is set, and no bl-touch errors on the self test. It’s just that side of the bed the extruder won’t lower to touch, as if it thinks it’s already at min height. Still prints ok in the center of the bed as is, but it’s just really odd the BL touch sensor only refuses to work on one side of the bed

Generally, you could change the print bed height by adjusting the 4 bed screws. Re-run tramming & bed leveling afterwards.
If I remember correctly, a Z-height difference between nozzle & CR-touch sensor larger than 2mm will raise an error message. In that case you could adjust the nozzle Z-position manually by heating-up, loosening the nozzle, turning the heat-break in the heat-block & fastening the nozzle firmly. Each full turn will result in a 1mm height change. Ensure to wear gloves iot protect your fingers. Adjust the Z-offset parameter & re-run bed leveling afterwards.

Good luck!

Got lucky. Although self tests passed, I unscrewed the BL touch sensor, harness was still glued in, but after reassembling it works fine. Very odd, but I’ll take it.
