I’ve been wanting to get a second Zero since the details of the M1D were released but each time I check it’s out of stock on the Sovol store. I see the price bouncing back and forth between $359 and $389 but always out of stock.
The Zero is discontinued and sold out literally everywhere. There will be no new stock.
Thanks. Yeah I also checked 3dprintersonlinestore.com and ebay but had no luck and was starting to fear it might be gone for good. Was the discontinuation announced anywhere?
Not really. They’ve mentioned it a few times as responses on social media or via customer service. The unofficial Sovol discord knew about it as well.
Have you tried to buy a second-hand printer on FB?
I’m hoping that it isn’t truly discontinued but they haven’t done another production run due to slow sales. I saw the sovol store has a notiify me when available which I signed up for hoping that if enough others do too that maybe we will get another run of machines.
I’ve been printing a lot of ASA and PPA on mine and none of my other printers do as well with these filaments. And I’ve also been printing some PPA-cf. I had been dreaming of a tool changer to minimize the hassle of manual filament swaps but realized that if I just had more Zeros I could keep one loaded with each of my go to materials and life would be good.
No, I’ve never bought anything on FB. If there is any possibility of buying new I’d wait but if the new ones are truly gone and not coming back then I might have to try my luck hunting for used ones.

T’would indeed be a shame if they were discontinued. They’re a cracking little printer. Hopefully there’s just some production delay.
They’ve become my first choice for any print which’ll fit within their print area.

That’s encouraging, maybe more will yet pop up elsewhere. I just noticed the T300 is again available in the US store and it had been delisted for months, not even a notify when restocked listing as the Zero still has.
They will not restock anywhere else. Whatever EU has is the last of it. You can email CS and they’ll tell you the same.
It’s a real shame I didn’t need a small printer til the zero was EOLed.
I couldn’t even get a a few spare parts from support earlier in the month. My machine is still under warranty so what happens if something breaks?
Some of the parts were spare stepper motors, it wouldn’t be such a problem is Sovol used a more standard setup but after testing the Zero uses a 0.5 sense resistor which is not standard for 5160’s and it’s a total ballache to setup some other motors.
I had to resort to putting an adxl on steppers and go through every possible combo of stepper setting in order to get a quiet motor, a motor that should ‘just work ok’ out of the box if Sovol followed more normal ways.
I’ve personally classed these as potential project machines from day one. There’s scope for changing most things for more readily available or possibly better equivalents, with a bit of work, if either desired else necessary.
End of the day, we technically have a basic Voron without having had to do all the tedious, time consuming parts in order to build one from scratch. If one needs to put a bit of time in later down the line, it’s still an improvement over building from scratch.
They’re a good printer as stock, with good upgrade potential. Best of both worlds, in my opinion.

The parts, in fact many parts are out of stock and not getting re-filled according to Sovol.
Yeah that’s true for the most part, but when they’ve gone out of their way to disregard tmc standards it makes some things difficult for tinkering.
For arguments sake a standard 5160 uses a 0.075 rsense but for some reason the Zero uses 0.05 and it just causes headaches depending on the setup
Thanks for the info. I wish Sovol had let us know the end was coming considerimg how recently it was released and given us a chance to place final orders for more printers and parts. This is my best printer for PPA and I was contemplating insulation and chamber heat to improve the performance. But that might shorten the life of steppers and other parts so now I think I will use it as is and try to find something better elsewhere.
Yeah its a shame, some motors play nice, but for me when using some high-powered LDO’s the motors made awful noises.
When trying to nail the problem down I found nearly all on-line documentation was useless because of the disregard of tmc standards. I did eventually get them to play nice by mounting an accelerometer to the motor and using a program to go through many thousands of stepper settings to find the right ones
Took around 4 hours of listening to the motors screech though, totally un-needed if they just used standard r-sense.
Sovol used to do a ‘motor pack’ for around 40 dollars, containing all the steppers of the zero, good value considering the specs, I’ve not been able to find 1:1 replacements at the usual places.
